Confirm you have appropriate privileges and the product is properly installed. (It was .NET Framework 3.5 component)The affected user was an administrator on the local computer. The affected user was logged onto the system at the time the McAfee products (McAfee Agent, VirusScan Enterprise Client and Antispyware Module) were being installed. The affected users credentials were used to install the McAfee products via the ePO 4.0/4.5 console.New users logging into the system are not affected.Other users logging into the system are not affected. If the affected users profile is deleted and logs into the system again, the issue is resolved. When the tray icon is clicked the McTray.exe process attempts to locate the Windows Installer component that contains the advertised shortcut of mcconsol.exe. At the time of the issue, a Process Monitor capture of the McTray.exe process showed that when the system tray icon shortcut was accessed, it used the users SID as the starting point to locate the Windows Installer component.Message was edited by: MyITGuy on 11

I had several old McAfee a-v software programs installed & they were conflicting. So I want to delete everything and start fresh. The help forum at Mcafee told me just how to do this but they can't seem to help me remove this one product, VirusScan Enterprise 7.1 and now that I've could not access removed almost everything this error message keeps coming on every time I restart Windows. It definitely is a McAfee issue I checked with Microsoft. I click OK and it goes away and I'm able to get on the Internet but I want to get rid of the error message. Does anybody here know how?? "Could not access the local server." Other symptoms include: Various services: HTTP SSL (requires IIS), IIS Admin Service, McAfee McShield, and some others that are set to Auto but are not running. When I try to start IIS manually, I get the error: "Could not start the IIS Admin Service service on Local Computer. Error 5: Access is denied." In my Security Events Log, I have a long list of Failure Audits with the Event ID: 560 and Source: Security. I've researched this issue but I haven't found anything that applies to my instance. It sounds like something's up with my permissions for LOCAL SERVICE, SYSTEM and Administrators groups but I can't figure out what. Thanks in advance for any help! February 15th, 2011 10:21am Hi, Based on my research, this issue may be caused by McAfee software. I suggest you temporarily uninstall the McAfee software or test the issue in Clean Boot state. For more information about Clean Boot, please refer to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310353 Regards, BruceThis posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. I downloaded sysinternals and ran AccesEnum on my registry. Somehow, I lost ownership to a lot of my registry entries. I reapplied the ownership to the Administrators group and the problem appears to be resolved. February 17th, 2011 8:59am Hi, Thank you for the feedback.
