a black screen and the message (Could not find any compatible direct3D direct3d update devices) when I hit "OK" it gives me another Message (DUXT createdevice failed) they the game stays direct3d 9 black till it crashes. I have a AMD Radeon HD 6950 video card and 6 months ago I had a Nvidia. I got rid of it and got https://steamcommunity.com/app/233680/discussions/3/558752451206155638/ all the software so I don't think it would be the problem. Now I did some homework and I have tried deleting the (production_config.ini) and retried and that didn't work. I made sure my drivers where up to date and my card supports everything it needs to run the game. I also made sure windows was updated, I https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/72892 tried cleaning up my comp with ccleaner, and I made sure that I have direct x9. I re-installed after all of that and it still giving me the same error? My brother with the same video card gave me this display settings in (production_config.ini) to see if I could just past (adapter_name=AMD Radeon HD 6900 Series (#0)) but that also didn't work. Solved: I re-installed my video drivers completely and it fix it!
