across an issue in one of his NetApp environments where my SnapMirrors stopped transferring data per their schedule. He sent me a screenshot, where a quick check [snapmirror status -l] showed this: Current Transfer Error: could not read from socket Never having seen that particular error there before, I first did the easy thing, and made a quick check on the official documentation website, and wasn't able to find any references to this exact scenario. Troubleshooting time! I like to start out troubleshooting an issue like this, that could stem from any number of base issues, by doing a bit of scoping. What DOES work? How might it all be related? Unsure of how the developer was logged into the interface (console, perhaps?) the first thing I did here was to ensure that I am able to access both filers over HTTP and SSH from my desktop. Check. No problems there. That indicated the basic TCP/IP configuration is still in place, a good start. Next, while I would expect a different error if it was the case, I thought it best to confirm that I didnt have expired licenses causing this issue. Sometimes that can manifest itself in unexpected ways. Using the license manager through the web interface indicated that my licensing is still good for another month or so. In the past I have seen problems (we often test code in this environment, which can lead to strange behaviors) with the SnapMirrors simply needing to be rebuilt. I went through the process to tear that down, ensuring a clean removal. I typically run the following through the CLI (NOTE: this process does not remove a SnapMirror schedule): Snapmirror quiesce
