Once you upgrade the version of APEX in 11g XE, that application is not available any longer... You will need to try accessing application id 4550 to log into the workspace..Thank you,Tony MillerLuvMuffin SoftwareRuckersville, VA Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 4. contain security group id of application owner. Error ERR-7620 Could not determine workspace for application (). The application had been working fine and it puzzled me why the link wasn't working. A direct link to the application worked but when using an alias in the URL it failed. If I changed the alias the error went away ... but I didn't want to change the alias because it meant I would have to find all the links that used it. Which sort of defeats https://community.oracle.com/thread/3701446 the point of using an alias in the first place! The solution was to find out if any other applications were using the same alias. So I ran the following query against the main APEX tables in my FLOWS schema : SELECT * FROM (SELECT COUNT(ALIAS) "COUNT",ALIAS FROM APEX_APPLICATIONS GROUP BY ALIAS) WHERE COUNT>1 ORDER BY COUNT DESC; http://www.mattsbits.co.uk/item-143.html This highlighted another application in a different workspace that was using the same application alias. An Oracle developer had cloned my application for development purposes and it ended up with the same alias as the live application. Once I changed the alias in the copy my application links started working again! Tuesday, May 5, 2015 Upgrade http://warp11.nl/2011/12/import-apex-application-at-command-line/ Oracle APEX (4.0.2.00.09 to 5.0.0.00.31) In Oracle 11g Express Edition Hi Friends, It's been a while with a blogpost, and this time its APEX, One of my favorite product from Oracle. Oracle 11g XE is quick to download from OTN and install in the laptop for trial & learning purposes could not and many of us already have this installed in laptop and use it for creating small applications for our own use. Scenario:- Today, I had to install a packaged application provided by Oracle into my express edition. By default the APEX version in express edition is 4.0.2.00.09, When I was trying to import the packaged application into my 11g XE database, It was could not determine failing with an INCOMPATIBLE error. I did careful reading through the details of packaged application which clearly mentioned Oracle developed the application in APEX version 4.2 and thus my XE APEX version of 4.0 was incompatible. I did not want to install a 12c R1 database which by default comes with APEX 4.2, Instead decided to upgrade the APEX version in XE to newly released 5.0 version directly. This post shows step by step method to upgrade our APEX from version 4.0.2.00.09 to 5.0.0.00.31. 1. Download the latest Oracle APEX (5.0) version from OTN download 2. Unzip the downloaded zip file: Linux: Unzip .zip Windows: Double click .zip in Windows Explorer 3. Start CMD prompt and Change your working directory to apex. 4. Start SQL*Plus and connect to the Oracle XE database: 5. Install Application Express: 5. Log back into SQL*Plus (as above) and load images: Confirm is the APEX was upgraded to version 5.0 7. In a Web browser, navigate to the Oracle Application Express Administration Services application: BEFORE Upgrade to 5.0 version , the old 4.2 Version Admin services screen looke

After a little bit of searching I found the way to do the import on the command-line. It is documented in the Apex documentation, but as you know I'd like this blog to be an "OPI" (one point of information) 🙂 Please have a look at the script, alter it whenever appropriate. declare -- the name of the workspace in wich to import t_workspace varchar2(30):= 'MERIDA'; -- an application number of an existing application in the workspace. t_existing_app number := 100; -- the "new" application number, an existing number will be dropped first. t_new_app number := 100; -- security group id, you don't have to set this variable t_secgrp_id number; begin -- get the Security Group ID select workspace_id into t_secgrp_id from apex_applications where application_id = t_existing_app; -- Set the Security Group ID wwv_flow_api.set_security_group_id(p_security_group_id => t_secgrp_id); -- Set the Application ID to use apex_application_install.set_application_id(t_new_app); -- This procedure generates the offset value used during application import. -- The offset value is used to ensure that the metadata for the Application -- Express application definition does not collide with other metadata on -- the instance.
