machine, but can't connect to Oracle 11 using Oracle native drivers. When I try to connect to the database using the database painter in the development environment, I get the message, "Oracle library OCI.DLL could not be loaded." I have the Windows 64-bit Oracle 11.2 client installed. I can connect to the database using SQL*Plus. I read some notes indicating that this error sometimes occurs if there are multiple copies of oci.dll on the machine or $ORACLE_HOME\bin is not included in the PATH. However, I checked and found that I only have one copy of oci.dll and my PATH contains the Oracle bin directory. Any suggestions? I'm sure there are no 32bit,64bit things. from os to https://community.oracle.com/thread/2331852 application,32bit was checked. and i changed server but same os ,same oracle, after application and instant client installed, same problems got. so i'm think about is there any conflicts when oracle 10g and odac/instant client work together I have the same question Show 0 Likes(0) 3805Views Tags: none (add) 10gContent tagged with 10g, 2003Content tagged with 2003, clientContent tagged with client, instantContent tagged with instant, odacContent tagged with odac, plContent tagged with pl, sqlContent tagged with sql This content has been marked as final. If "oci.dll can not be loaded", the problem is not a lack of oci.dll. The first thing you should do is uninstall Instant Client and anything else you installed to fix the problem (I don't know what you mean with "install PL/SQL"). Then check if oci.dll can be loaded, e.g. by starting sqlplus and connecting to a database. If that works, oci.dll is fine. If your program cannot load oci.dll, something in your setup has a prob

I have no idea! –maniA Jun 1 '15 at 14:49 @WernfriedDomscheit Just wanted to come say that, adding the path variable to the oracle folder fixed this error for me –Chris Chevalier Oct 14 at 17:11 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 0 down vote If you are using TOAD, you will need to download the 32-bit version of the Oracle Client Tools. Since the Client Tools are different on a per-processor architecture basis, you probably need to install versions. share|improve this answer answered Jun 1 '15 at 8:14 Patrick Hofman 82.9k1480125 How can I know which version of Oracle Client Tools I have? –man
