Could Not Inspect The Application Package Framework
only takes a minute: Sign up PackageInspectionFailed Error with FlashBuilder, Adobe AIR and iOS development up vote 6 down vote favorite 2 Building an iOS app using FB4.7 Premium, Air 3.4. At this point, just a very simple test framework. Suddenly, the builder is throwing PackageInspectionFailed errors, and won't complete the build. No explanation why. Simulator runs fine. I should failed to load info.plist from bundle at path point out that I have been building and packaging this all day directly to my iPad with no problems. Suddenly, I'm getting this error and the app no longer builds. The last thing I did was add this line: text.autoSize = TextFieldAutoSize.LEFT; Update After UNDOing those edits, I'm now getting a new error (is this progress?) ApplicationVerificationFailed. Again with no further info. I haven't changed certificates, build parameters or anything else. Interestingly, manually dragging the generated .ipa to iTunes and then syncing with the iPad does actually install the app, without error. It just adds a bunch more steps to my testing / debugging process. What is this error? What are some of the conditions I should be looking for that might cause the error? Please vote on Adobe Bugbase I have submitted a bug for 3.9 here: please vote: https://bugbase.adobe.com/index.cfm?event=newBug Sarah Northway has another bug report for 3.8 here: please vote: https://bugbase.adobe.com/index.cfm?event=bug&id=3650414 Let's get some Adobe eyes on this - there needs to be more information provided about the causes of this error. ios air flash-builder

each other. Join them; it only takes a minute: Sign up Xcode: Could not inspect the application package up vote 32 down vote favorite 7 I am running Xcode 6 and iOS 8 GM. Every other time I http://stackoverflow.com/questions/18900497/packageinspectionfailed-error-with-flashbuilder-adobe-air-and-ios-development run my app I get this message from Xcode: "Could not inspect the application package" So I can run and build, I will get the message. I run and build again, everything runs as expected (this is to my device). Then it will rinse and repeat, every other time giving me this error. I have looked at all the other solutions that have been suggested but cannot stop this error. I have cleaned my project, cleaned the http://stackoverflow.com/questions/26015194/xcode-could-not-inspect-the-application-package build folder, deleted derived data etc with no luck. How am I supposed to see what is causing this in the first place? I appreciated any help. Thanks. EDIT: Interestingly, this only happens when running on my device. Not on the simulator. EDIT 2: More interestingly, it only happens on my device, when building for debug. If I change the scheme to release, I can build and run endlessly without with error. Ideas? ios objective-c xcode osx share|improve this question edited Oct 8 '14 at 20:46 asked Sep 24 '14 at 10:59 Josh Kahane 6,3162596193 are you using pods? –Signo Sep 29 '14 at 15:18 What other solutions did you tried exactly? –idmean Sep 29 '14 at 15:20 I'm not using any pods, although I have added the Parse framework. Although I don't see why that would change anything, it hasn't in the past. Other solutions, cleaning build folder, deleting all derived data, recreating provisioning profiles. There isn't a great deal on this issue and it is so nondescript it makes it very difficult to resolve. –Josh Kahane Sep 29 '14 at 15:32 any preceding errors in the console? –Brad Allred Sep 29 '14 at 18:11 Nope, the app never runs. Just before it runs and after is completes building, it gives the error. Nothing in the console. &ndas

Which means I can't run my app on any simulator or device. Have you seen this issue before? There's a reference to the bundle identifier, but my settings seem correct, and are certainly no different to the working version beforehand. I've tried playing around could not inspect with these settings, but can't get anything to work. I've tried this independently with each of my dependencies, so I don't think it's a specific Pod issue. I've made sure that my linker paths and header settings are correct I've also tried deleting the app from my devices and trying again Full console output is as follows: Feb 15 22:25:18 Chriss-iPhone installd[53] : 0x449000 handle_install: Install of "/var/mobile/Media/PublicStaging/[**].app" requested by mobile_installation_proxy Feb 15 22:25:18 Chriss-iPhone installd[53] : 0x449000 peruse_package: App info dict loaded from "/var/tmp/install_staging.tx0T2M/[].app" did not have bundle identifier Feb 15 22:25:18 Chriss-iPhone installd[53] : 0x449000 stage_package: Could not peruse package at /var/tmp/install_staging.tx0T2M/[***].app Feb 15 22:25:18 Chriss-iPhone installd[53] : 0x449000 MobileInstallationInstall_Server: Could not stage the package Feb 15 22:25:18 Chriss-iPhone mobile_installation_proxy[7181] : 0x3b04bb78 MobileInstallationInstall: failed with -1 Feb 15 22:25:18 Chriss-iPhone mobile_installation_proxy[7181] : handle_install: Installation failed Feb 15 22:25:18 Chriss-iPhone installd[53] : 0x449000 handle_install: API failed I appreciate that this might not be the ideal forum, but thought it was worth raising in case it was some issue with CocoaPods. SOLUTION: There are many causes but what my issue was was this. I had an info.plist file specified in the "Copy Bundle Resources" section in "Build Phases". Once I removed that, my app installed.
