Source Error: Line 1: <%@ Application Codebehind="Global.asax.cs" Inherits="TestMvcApplication.MvcApplication" Language="C#" %> Source File: /global.asax Line: 1 Not sure if anybody came across this error before and how it was solved, but I what is parser error have reached the end. Any help would be appreciated. I also need to mention that this is the published code, so all is compiled. I fixed my error by changing the web project's output path. When you create a Web Application the Page directive is CodeBehind for the web pages. If you create your application as Website then the Page directive is CodeFile So if you copy from a Web application to Website the Namespace as well as the page directive will not change automatically, you should do this manually to rectify this error
