Is there a way to allow higher version for example 1.2.11. As well the Nuget has a dependency >= log4net.dll for .net 4.0 download 1.2.10 which allow to upgrade Log4Net. When trying to use Log4Net 1.2.11 i am getting an exception. Noam noamberda commented Jun 24, 2013 I have done some more research on this. looks like the log4net team have updated the dll PublicKeyToken in version 1.2.11 and that's the source of the problem. I event tried to align the two versions and then redirect the dll calls to the new version based

on the following discussion http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8743992/how-do-i-work-around-log4net-keeping-changing-publickeytoken but i am getting an error from PayPal Log4Netwraper around the XML configuration loading. looks like the method has changed in the version 1.2.11 So the last question i have, any plans to upgrade the SDk to support 1.2.11? Thanks, Noam kellyelton commented Aug 31, 2013 Bump @noamberda did you find a way around this? noamberda commented Sep 2, 2013 I haven't found any workaround. I am still using log4net 1.2.10 version kellyelton commented Sep 2, 2013 Would be nice if the sdk would bump up their log4net versions all around, or even implement something like https://www.nuget.org/packages/Common.Logging/ instead. My whole web project went to hell after having to work around this issue, and 1.2.10 is old now (Friday, January 07 2011 was the NuGet date for it). pvasek commented Sep 10, 2013 I completely agree with kellyelton. It is really painful experience try to integrate it with our existing project. The error, shown in full, is: Could not load file or assembly 'log4net, Version=1.2.0.30714, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b32731d11ce58905' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040) From what I understand, this means that the actual file located (that is, log4net.dll http://stackoverflow.com/questions/4642881/could-not-load-file-or-assembly-log4net-or-one-of-its-dependencies in my bin directory) does not match the version expected based on some assembly configuration. The problem I'm having is that I cannot locate where this file is being referenced. I have access to all the files in the web root directory of the site, and cannot locate any config files that reference this DLL. Where else might I need to look to determine what's causing the mis-match? As a note, I've made sure that the version of the DLL in the bin directory is up to date, but this does not seem to have resolved anything. c# asp.net share|improve this question asked Jan 10 '11 at 0:55 Elie 8,7711759113 add a comment| 9 Answers 9 active oldest votes up vote 5 down vote accepted You need to control the references in projects as well - the references are compiled into the assembly itself and will attempt a loading. My guess is, you have an outdated reference to the log4net assembly but are using the latest version. share|improve this answer answered Jan 10 '11 at 1:06 Femaref 48.3k391132 That makes sense. Is there a way for me to see which reference is being made in the project - what file would this typically be located in when looking at th

I have added the web.config entry across from the sdk example, and have added could not load the reference to the 2 dlls that come with the SDK, but it still crashes, the full error message is below : {"An error occurred creating the configuration section handler for paypal: Could not load type 'PayPal.Manager.SDKConfigHandler' from assembly 'PayPal_Merchant_SDK'. (C:\Projects\Mobile Development\Print Management\Print Management\web.config line 8)"} so looking at this, it is pointing to the entry in the web config file, which is added below, I have also created a new project with an empty site, added a page, and all the web.config entries etc, and it works fine. Could it be something to do with mvc4 ?? I know the web.config entry is large, but I thought I would put it all in there incase it is something else in there causing the problem. any help would be much appreciated, as I am very close to having this finished, but I just cant seem to find what the issue is here
