You can try to manually start the Pervasive engine, or perform an Windows uninstall and reinstall of the Pervasive Software listed under the Windows Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs. You can alternately try the Peachtree REPAIR program located on the program CD, however, the uninstall and re-install tends to be less frustrating and more complete. Click on Windows Explorer and local C: drive - click on the folder C:\PVSW and the C:\PVSW\BIN. Now double click on the w3dbsmgr.exe file peachtree error 8591 to start the DB engine. If this attempt fails then perform the tasks previously suggeted. __________________ Rick Prindiville PCO Consulting Services, Inc. rick@pcosupport.com Peachtree Certified Consultant Sage Certified Trainer rick Prindivill View Public Profile Find all posts by rick Prindivill #3 04-01-2008, 12:06 PM pgmz1962 Registered User Join Date: Apr 2008 Posts: 5 Thank you for your reply I will give this a try. Uninstalled both applications, using "add/remove". Now each time I reboot this error window comes up. It also freezes the re-installation of the accounting software, but everthing else is funtioning fine. The tech support at Peachtree (Sage Software) has not been stumped. I'm on Windows 2000, but connected to a server. I wasn't sure where to post this, so if no one can help, please offer suggestions of where to turn. I'm willing to start fresh on this PC and remove all software, but I'm obviously looking for a easier solution.
