Did you encounter a "Could not complete your request because of a program error." pop up while you were trying to make changes or save a PSD in Adobe Photoshop? This is definitely a bug in Photoshop that is annoying and does not provide much to go off in terms of troubleshooting. While there could be many reasons for this error to occur, one of the common reasons is the PSD you are working with uses a different Type Engine than what your Photoshop is set to operate on. In order to resolve this problem so you can save to the PSD, you would go to Edit / Preferences / Type and change the Type Engine from East Asian to Middle Eastern and restart Photoshop. I got the error message "Could not complete your request because of a program error" when I attempted to save a file that I had edited (it should be noted that at the same time, I had 2 other similar files open that I had also edited for which the error message didn't pop up.) This is precisely what happened: I had finished editing my photograph - I clicked on "Save as" and the error message popped up. So I tried clicking on just "Save" - same error message popped up. So, I clicked on the "X" to close the file - a window popped up to ask me if I wanted to save the changes I'd made - I chose "yes" - and then again, the same error message popped up. (isn't it o

OK... this is REALLY bizarre..... about a week ago I got this error while trying to save a file under Photoshop CS. It happened once... then went away. The very next day... I got the same error while trying to could not open any (and I mean) any file in Photoshop... I'm talking new files or old files, JPEG's, PNG's, TIFF's, etc. I deleted preferences, settings, all of that. Tried booting up without plugs installed, etc. All of the things one would typically go through to fix the problem. I even went so far as to remove every single Adobe application from could not complete my box (and all of their related support files) and reinstall everything. Exact same error. Then... intermittently... I could open or save files again... just to have it go back to the same problem as before. This was really bugging me. I then decided to try and run Photoshop that was sitting on another workstation via the network... exact same error. But even stranger than this is... that Photoshop that was running PERFECTLY previous to all of this... no longer works either!! It now shows up with the same error. Really, really bizarre. Anyone else have this issue?Return to posts indexReport Post •Re: "Could not complete your request because of a program error."by IsabelleVt on Aug 28, 2005 at 5:04:11 pmI started getting the same message yesterday when I tried to save some .psd files I had been working on. your request because of a program error. - Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator I reinstalled Photoshop 7.01 & Photoshop Elements 2 following a complete reformat and reinstallation of Windows 98se and all applications. Now, on both applications, I get the subject error when attempting to use various tools following opening of an image file. I uninstalled both programs and reinstalled with nothing in the background other than Explorer. I also reinstalled Internet Explorer. And, of course, I reset settings. Nothing helped. Prior to the reformat/reinstallation (which was done for other reasons), both applications worked fine, Both programs are useless now... Any suggestions?...
