Critical Error Could Not Create Device
Hardy to Intrepid. Today I tried to install a game (Terrorist Takedown) under Wine. The install went perfect, but when I tried to run the game I got this message: tt_en critical error could not find device I clicked on the "OK" button after witch the Wine window closed. Has anyone any idea what could have gone wrong here? And what device should I check into? I did a search under the Wine forum using the "tt_en critical error" thing but came up with nothing. Many thanks in advance. beastrace91January 30th, 2010, 07:09 PMIs this (http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=15358) this by chance the game you are referring to? If so note that the abbdb entry lists that it only works in windowed mode, so perhaps give that a try. If that does not work could you please provide your Wine version, graphics card, and driver version? Regards, ~Jeff gustemanJanuary 30th, 2010, 11:24 PMHi there beastrace91. Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately it is not the game you pointed out but this one is situated in Mogadishu (Somalia) and manufactured by city interactive. There is also a sequel called Terrorist Takedown Payback. Nevertheless I will look further into it at the WineHQ (am quite new at this and first have to find out what the "windowed" mode is). Anyway, thanks again, and I will surely let you know the results of the windowed mode, either if it works or not.
