To my knowledge nothing changed in my environment, and running this exact same query through the advisor worked last week. Now, when I execute the Advisor, I get the following message.Error: Failed to parse input XML. Could not parse workload type.No event viewer message or any other info. Can anyone offer some insight please? Thanks! Tuesday, May 26, 2009 1:19 PM Reply | Quote Answers 0 Sign in to vote I have resolved this by actually executing the DTA on the execute statement itself of the stored procedure, rather than the full 'Script to New Query Editor - Execute Stored Procedure' given by right clicking it.This allowed it to properly load and show me the possible improvements. Is that expected behavior? Shouldn't it say something to the effect of 'You are selecting things which will cause errors"?Edit:Is there a place I can get a list of what types of commands in T-SQL will throw errors when using the GUI for DTA?If it is a simple variable declaration, or cast statement or some such, I'd like to know to avoid them and not waste the time. Thanks in advance. Are you launching DTA from SSMS? If possible can you please share out the XML generated by File/Export Session Definition menu in DTA ? Also please make sure that the input workload file/table name is correctThanks,ManojManoj Wednesday, May 27, 2009 4:56

When researchers face the challenge of analyzing them, their format is often the first obstacle. Lack of standardized ways of exploring different data layouts requires an effort each time to solve the problem from scratch. Possibility to access data in a rich, uniform manner, e.g. using Structured Query Language (SQL) would offer expressiveness and user-friendliness. Comma-separated values (CSV) are one of the most common data storage formats. Despite its simplicity, with growing file size handling it becomes non-trivial. Importing CSVs into existing databases is time-consuming and t
