The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program. This problem started in the last week or so. Im running Win XP SP2 fully updated. Doesn't seem to stop Outlook from working properly. It's just another annoying box to click on when quitting. Any ideas? - Application Error The instruction at "0x090d737d" referenced memory at "0x09123478". The memory could not be "read". I have deleted my Outlook profile and recreated but the problem still exists. Have searched around and cannot locate any useful pointers - it seems however that this http://exceptionin.com/q/outlook-exe-application-error may be just associated with Outlook but other applications that use DDE (whatever that is). The http://www.yqcomputer.com/1018_11834_1.htm machine is fully patched etc. Any ideas? 5answers microsoft outlook 2003 Comments See all(0) Cancel Edit Add comment Anonymous 0 August 17, 2011 This was identified as a third-party Outlook Add-On needing to be re-written as it experienced some issues following some Windows Updates being applied. Can anyone help? Read More Views 5 Votes 0 Answers 5 August 15, 2011 Outlook 2007 Crashing with "Application Error" Hello, I
am having a problem attempting to run an application which calls several custom components written in Visual C ++ 6.0 (Active X dlls and Exes) on a Win 2003 Server running as a Terminal Server. There is no problem when the Win2003 server is run in "Remote mode" (i.e. not specifically set up as a Terminal Server). However, when the machine is configured to run as a Terminal Server [via "Add / Remove Windows Components - Terminal Server] and then the application is launched, an error dialog is displayed. The title of the dialog is: "DDE Server Window: MyAppName.exe Application error". The content of the error message is: "The instruction at x73584932' reference memory at x0000000'. The memory could not be read." This error is the same regardless of whether the application is launched locally or remotely. The C++ code was written in 1996-1998 and does use DDE (as far as I can make out). I am hoping that I do not need to make changes to the code (not being a C++ programmer) and there might be some option in the Windows Terminal Services configuration that I can set to prevent this error. Hopefully someone has some knowledge or bright ideas to help me out. Thanks in advance. Also, does the application work when you run it as administrator? Try also to open a command prompt and type CHANGE USER /INSTALL. Then run the application. Does it work? If it does you will need to set some flags in the registry for this particular application to use for example the Windows System directory. I assume you installed the application as an administrator user AND using Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs. -- Cldio Rodrigues Microsoft MVP Windows Technologies - Terminal Services http://www.yqcomputer.com/ Top Terminal Services: Launching application causes - 'DDE Server Window' error by Grant_ » Thu, 07 Oct 2004 05:53:02 laudio Thanks for your helpful reply. I have had success. I wonder if you could help me on two points: 1. Could you point me in the direction of the registry flags I would need to consider setting? I presume that setting the flags would mean that users will not need to use the command line command "CHANGE USER /INSTALL" in
