Dde Server Excel
a DDE server"SCENARIO#11) If I double click on a single PDF file, the file opens with no problems2) If I double click on a second PDF file, I get "Fatal Error: Acrobat Failed to connect to a DDE server"3) If I double click on a third file I also get "Fatal Error: Acrobat Failed to connect to a DDE server" and so on..4) If I close Adobe Reader completely, I acrobat failed to send a dde command windows 7 can then open any one single PDF file again5) Basically I can only have one PDF file open at any one time6) If I reboot my system, I can open multiple PDF files again with no problems but after leaving my system on without rebooting for a while (possibly after an entire day) the issue comes back again and I have to reboot yet again to fix the issue. Very annoying.SCENARIO#21) I Double click on a single PDF file, the file opens2) I Click on File=>Open choose single or multiple PDF file and have no problems opening up as many PDF files as I want.3) I suppose that I can use this as a workaround however I find that it is not as convenient as double clicking on multiple files in Windows Explorer. Here's what I've tried so far unsuccesfully- Uninstalling/Reinstalling Adobe Reader 9.1- uninstalling Adobe Reader 9.1 and installing Adobe Reader 8- Removing the checkmark beside "USE DDE" in the File Types section of Windows Explorer(In Windows Explorer, Click on Tools=>Folder Options=>File Types=> PDF=>Advanced=> Open=> Change=> Use DDE)- Set Windows Services Network DDE and Network DDE DSDM services to Automatic and verified that they are both startedI am on a corporate network if that helpsAppreciate any suggestionsSebastian 31078
resolve this dde server window windows 10 issue, follow the steps below Open Adode Reader acrobat dc failed to connect to a dde server – [Start]; [All Programs]; [Adobe Reader] Open Preferences – [Edit]; [Preferences] Disable protected adobe reader fatal error dde server mode – [Security (Enhanced)]; Untick [Enable Protected Mode at startup] Confirm the de-selection – [Yes] Close preferences – [OK] Close Adobe Reader, https://forums.adobe.com/thread/416414 You will no longer receive ‘DDE’ errors when trying to open PDF documents. Stage 2: If Adobe will not launch The Adobe DDE error fix of disabling Enhanced security protected mode relies on adobe being able to launch… If it cannot launch https://support.lincoln.ac.uk/entries/62872339-Adobe-DDE-Error-fix you cannot apply stage 1 Reset Adobe App data in the users H drive – This is usually in 2 places – Their App data and RDS folders both contain adobe subfolders with Adobe reader data in it… rename these to reader.old for example - You may need to be a little creative in spotting the folders as they appear under different names/Variations There is also a fairly obvious file in the ‘softgridclient’ folder – If this is present rename this as well. I may not be there Once these are renamed, REBOOT the machine - This is important to flush the system This should get adobe working to the state where you can disable protected mode Topic is closed for comments Support Software by Zendesk

I recently added Acrobat XI reader (on 9/6). Last night I received an update notification which I applied (I believe it as for reader). Since the update dde server my Adobe reader would lock up and stop processing, to the extent I was unable to kill the program via task manager. Opening a document in Acrobat Pro resulted in the same issue. One of the open documents eventually died, then displayed the following error:Acrobat failed to connect to a DDE server.I was also unable to reboot. Reboot dde server window process apparently was unable to free the running Acrobat programs. I was able to successfully stop the program by powering off and back on the machine, but got the same errors when trying to open a document with either reader or acrobat pro after rebooting. Finally I restored system to restore point created just before the last night's Acrobat update (which reapplied some windows updates I had done last night as well, after the restore). When I received the update notification again, I refused to allow it to execute, then uninstalled Adobe Reader. Things appear stable now.Are there any known problems running Acrobat Reader and Acrobat Pro together (Version 11)?Note that I did create a dump file for one of locked up Acrobat tasks before the restore.Thanks. brad erenberger 4 Answers Voted Best Answer Edit Answer (for another -36 minute) Try running the Repair command from under the Help menu to see if it corrects the problem.
