Any more sheets that follow this application defined or object defined error vba template are appended to the newly created sheet. I'm getting the error in the title in this section of code: If Worksheets("User Configuration").Cells(9, 15).Value = 1 Then Worksheets("Cable Cards Template").Range("A1:J33").Copy With Worksheets("Cable Cards") **.Range(Cells(RangeStartRow, RangeStartColumn), Cells(RangeEndRow, RangeEndColumn)).PasteSpecial xlValues** .Range(Cells(RangeStartRow, RangeStartColumn), Cells(RangeEndRow, RangeEndColumn)).PasteSpecial xlFormats End With Worksheets("Cable Cards Template").Shapes("Picture 1").Copy Worksheets("Cable Cards").Paste Cells(RangeStartRow, RangeStartColumn) Call Sheets.FormatCableCardRows End If Basically if the IF statement is true (the cell = 1), then a range on a particular sheet should be copied and pasted into the new sheet at the range given using pastespecial for values and formatting. Following that, the "newly created" sheet should have an image copied into the top left cell of the template and then a subroutine is called to format the rows of the new sheet. I'm getting the error at the first .Range call after the with worksheets("cable cards") statement. I've tried not using the with statement, copying values directly instead of paste-special etc. The weird thing is that this will run on the first go (wh

I tested the code on my computer and a coworker's computer and it executed to perfection. However, when testing on the customer's computer, I get an error on this line ActiveSheet.UsedRange.Offset(1, 0).Resize(ActiveSheet.UsedRange.Rows.Count - 1).Rows.Select From what I've read, this may be due to the fact that .select is used, however, I'm not quite http://stackoverflow.com/questions/31790089/application-defined-or-object-defined-error-able-to-run-script-on-some-pcs-b sure what to substitute. Below is the whole block: ActiveSheet.UsedRange.Offset(1, 0).Resize(ActiveSheet.UsedRange.Rows.Count - 1).Rows.Select Selection.FormatConditions.Add Type:=xlExpression, Formula1:="=$G2>30" Selection.FormatConditions(Selection.FormatConditions.Count).SetFirstPriority With Selection.FormatConditions(1).Font .Color = -16751204 .TintAndShade = 0 End With With Selection.FormatConditions(1).Interior .PatternColorIndex = xlAutomatic .Color = 10284031 .TintAndShade = 0 End With Selection.FormatConditions(1).StopIfTrue = True Any ideas as to why this error is occurring? The entire Sub is quite lengthy, but I'd be happy to provide it if that would be helpful. excel vba excel-vba runtime-error share|improve this question asked Aug 3 '15 at 14:35 Dr. Trey 868524 FYI - Here's a pretty good SO thread that outlines ways to avoid .select. As for the error, what error is it? Is it always "Application Defined ..." error? –BruceWayne Aug 3 '15 at 14:37 Yes it's always the "Application Defined..." error on her system. On our systems, it throws no error whatsoever. Looking into that thread now, thanks! –Dr. Trey Aug 3 '15 at 14:41 You'd get that error if the Usedrange is one row, or the entire sheet. –Rory Aug 3 '15 at 14:42 Would it be better to use CurrentRegion? –Dr. Trey Aug 3 '15 at 14:46 2 If the rogue computer has inadvertently created a 'last cell' on th

On the code below, the following are set via a form: TextBox9.Value = 10 ComboBox8.Value = "Consumer Discretionary" I run the macro from Activesheet.Name = "G&I" For some reason I get an error at the code (near the very bottom): VB: Cells(0, Range("GI_Columns_Sector_Value").Column) = TextBox9.Value The thing that puzzels me is that with the variables set as above, I didn't think it should reach that line of code as VB: If TextBox9.Value < 0.1 Then Should prevent that bit of code. I any case the error I am getting is: Run-Time error '1004' Application-defined or object-defined error. I can't figure out what I am doing wrong. VB: If ActiveSheet.Name = "G&I" Then If ComboBox8.Value = "Consumer Discretionary" Then Cell
