I have recently tried to change the printer cartridges and have an error code of 50c. I have looked online for solutions and when I follow the instructions it still doesn't work. I have tried everything to print a test page but this error continues to appear on the top window of the printer.My

ink cartridges are full and I have cleaned the printer multiple times, I have also reinserted the cartridges according to the instructions, I have used new original Dell cartridges and refilled, and I also reinstalled the printer’s driver and it still does not work. Posted by RockStār-Rick K on 7 Mar 2010 21:14 gsmartinf, Are you using Dell Series 2 ink cartridges? Did you try to refill these cartridges? Unplug the printer from the wall. Now remove the power brick from the back of the printer. Wait 60 seconds, then plug everything back in. This will reset any error messages the printer has in memory. Turn the power on. Open the printer and take out the Dell Series 2 black ink cartridge and reseat it. Do the same for the Dell Series 2 color ink cartridge. Close the printer and it will try to print an alignment page. Any error messages? Dell Series 2 ink cartridges have a sensor in them that cannot be reset. Article

The print head is what the cartridges sit in inside of the printer. I havent used it in ages (About 2 years), then I recently pulled it out of the closet, bought some refill online, refilled it following the instructions (I did buy the ink ment for the carteges aswell). I put the ink inside of the printer, and go to print a test page and got "Cartridge Error 50C" (Sorry, forgive my english spelling, im not well at it) I rebooted my computer, re-installed the printer drives, tried it again and instead of getting that same error, the pages I print out come out either blank or have light black on them where the printer tried to print.. I need help badly, Printers is NOT my specialty Than

I would clean the contact board on the back of the cartridges and on the printers cartridge harness with a few Q tips and 99 % isopropyl alcohol, let it sit for a minute and try again, if that did not help just get new cartridges or get another printer.
