2013-03-13 03:46 Not long after joining a game, Battlefield crashes. After the crash I get the following message: DirectX function "GetDeviceRemovedReason" failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG: Device hung due to badly formed directx error battlefield hardline commands.. GPU: "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 ", Driver: 31090 The only way to directx error battlefield hardline beta even get rid of the crash report is to open task manager and "end task". I've only got 44 Hours bf3 directx error (long-time console player) on the PC version of the game, but this crash just recently started. Or will I have to wait for a Battlefield patch? GtotheGrizzle Enlisted: 2011-10-25 2013-03-13 04:13 reformat windows...Im not even joking. I had that problem for three months and no one at EA could help me. I tried everything, but I only got it to work again after reformatting. Good luck. Use drivers 306.97.They work...I tried every driver above this for my msi twin frozr 680 and the card became unstable on BF3. So went back to the trusty solid working driver.Everything is fine again. Also shut your pc down after new driver install. KaptKiwi Enlisted: 2011-10-25 2013-03-14 16:27 , edited 2013-03-14 17:12 by KaptKiwi o0Sebax0o said:Wouldn't reinstalling directx fix this problem? to badly formed commands KIA_tommy Enlisted: 2011-11-01 2013-09-15 02:21 Hi everyone, I am having a problem with BF3 crashing all the time. I am getting DirectX Error "DirectX function "GetDeviceRemovedReason" failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG: Device hung due to badly formed commands.. GPU: "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760", Driver: 32680 I have read may other posts with the same problem and there doesn't appear to be a fix that works. I am getting this error the first and second time I join a server, the game loads and just before I get to play it crashes with that error. Usually after that it is fine, although if I minimise the game and then go back into it the graphics will glitch with terrain textures flashing black before crashing with the same error. Then I will usually get the change windows colour scheme window which minimises the game and causes the same problem. I have tried the following: Installed every compatible driver pack from nVidia including beta drivers. Set AA and AF settings in nVidia control panel to use game settings. Set the BF3.exe to disable desktop composition (this causes the graphics to glitch with textures flashing black). Run a repair install from Origin. Nothing to fix. Turn down video settings in game. Turn down clock speeds on video cards.
