771 error on all your receivers, please call 1-800-531-5000 for further assistance. If only some receivers are affected, but not all, please proceed with the steps below. You need to be home to troubleshoot. Step 1 Your cables may be loose. Check all the connections between your receiver and the wall outlet, starting with the SAT-IN (or SATELLITE IN) connection, and make sure they're secure. Note: If you have any adaptors connected to the cable, please dish network error 024 check them as well. Step 2 You may have a SWiM Power Inserter (pictured on the right) attached to the DIRECTV cable coming from your dish. Unplug it from the electrical outlet, wait for 15 seconds, and plug it back in. Note: Do not plug in the SWiM Power Inserter to a power outlet that can be turned off. Step 3 If you can easily see your satellite dish, check to see that there's nothing blocking the line of sight from the dish to the sky. DO NOT climb your roof. In order for a signal to be received, it must first travel from the orbitting satellite down to the satellite dish, focused into the low noise blocker (LNB) and sent through cables, possibly a multi-switch, and finally to your receiver. If there is any break in the process, you will see a "Searching for Satellite (ext. 771)" in some form on the screen. -Most often on an aged dish the LNB will start sending signal to the receiver in a way that it cannot read it. Also this issue is caused by the weather. If there is snow or ice build-up on the dish, VERY CAREFULLY remove it. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT TOUCH THE LNB'S!!!!!!!! They are extremely sensitive and can be easily damaged. The problem should then resolve itself. -Also, very often the issue is caused by a change in installation, purposefully or not. Some are HR24/100's and some are HR/500's. For the past few days I have been getting Error 771 Signal Loss on Satellite 2 on all 6 of the receivers. They are not going out at the exact same time. One may go out for a minute or so the others working and vice versa. As you can tell this is driving me nuts. Nothing at all has changed concerning the setup in over a year. 13 months ago DTV came out and installed two new DVR's and at that time they had to install a new dish. There are no obstructions to the dish. I have done a hard reset on all receivers. I have unplugg
