Dish Network Complete Signal Loss Fix
Page... Dish 002 Partial Signal Loss errors Thread Tools 06-29-2012, 12:32 PM #1 Charles Branch C-SPAN Junkie dish network signal loss code 11-12-11 Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: East Alabama Age: 76 Posts: 97 Dish 002 Partial Signal Loss errors A year or two ago I posted a thread on the 002 error I was http://support.bell.ca/TV/Receivers/My_TV_is_showing_Error_002_Satellite_signal_has_been_lost getting. VIP722 Losing signal, locking, and rebooting It is happening again on both my VIP722K and VIP222K, and I was wondering if anyone has come up with a solution. The problem is intermittent and unrelated to the weather. The Partial Signal Loss error pops up, but I can always immediately get it back by just pressing the Guide button. Dish replaced the VIP722 a year http://www.highdefforum.com/dish-network-forum/136583-dish-002-partial-signal-loss-errors.html or so ago, and that seemed to help for a while. But now it's back on both receivers. The Dish technician came out a couple of days ago and changed the LNB. He had previously changed all the connectors. I did a search for "Error 002," and several others have reported the same issue. One thing I have in common with some of the others is that I do have OTA adapters in both receivers. That's about the only component they have not replaced, and I am wondering if that might be the problem. One other problem I have noticed is that sometimes (I think always when watching an OTA channel), I notice that the receiver is locked up. It is still receiving the local channel, but I cannot change channels or get the remote to do anything at all. Sometimes it will reboot on its own, but usually I have to do a manual reboot. I'm an old retired I.T. director, and I'm pretty tolerant about intermittent problems. But this one has been going on for a couple of years on three different receivers. ProductsHomearound the homeentertainmentDish HD DVR Receiver ProblemsDish HD DVR Receiver ProblemsBy Travis WamplerAs of early 2010, Dish Network offered four different HD receivers with DVR capabilities; models 612, 622, 722 and 722k. Each receiver shared a commonality among the top five technical issues, as reported by customers. If you currently have a Dish https://www.techwalla.com/articles/dish-hd-dvr-receiver-problems Network HD DVR receiver, then it is easy to recognize known issues. Dish Network receivers are designed to report error codes and information to the viewer on the television screen, which can be researched via Dish Network’s online Tech Portal or by calling their technical support hotline.Error Code 002 and 015Error 002 and 015 results when there is signal degradation or loss. Typically, this dish network is caused by bad weather, movement of the actual dish, or a bad coaxial cable in the installation. In order to troubleshoot these errors, first determine if bad weather is the culprit, specifically snow, rain or heavy cloud coverage. If so, then once the storm passes the error will correct itself. If the actual dish was recently moved, then perform a signal strength test dish network error from your receiver’s on-screen menu. On your receiver’s remote, press “Menu” and navigate to “System Setup,” “Installation,” and “Point Dish.” Enter your ZIP code and follow the on-screen instructions. Satisfactory signal strength should steadily rest between 80 and 100 for the best image quality. You may need to physically move the external dish to pick up the necessary signal for the HD receiver to correct the error code.If your signal strength is satisfactory, then physically inspect all connections from the dish to the receiver. If you suspect a section of coaxial cable is damaged within the wall, then you may need to call a technician for assistance. If you find a portion of damaged cable, then replace it with a new one.Error Code 004This multidish error usually occurs when switching between HD and SD channels. The best strategy to troubleshoot this error is to change the channel by pressing the up or down channel button. If it occurs on the next channel, then power-off the system and unplug it from the wall. After 15 seconds, plug the receiver back in and power on the unit. If the problem persists,
