I did a reboot, and everything seemed to be ok, until a few hours later it happened again, with another lockup. Today I get home and the error message is on the screen again, saying "press ok for reboot". So I reboot, and the acquiring satellite screen comes up, when I notice that the receiver # is there, but the smart card reads all zeros. The acquiring satellite screen got to 2 of 5, then hits the error again, prompting a reboot. Now I'm on an infinite cycle of reboot...error...reboot...error. Does anyone know what is going on? I've had the receiver for quite some time, and it has worked fine. I've recently within the last week hooked up broadband to it to save the $5, so I don't know if that has something to do with the problem. If anyone can help I'd be grateful, I've got a bunch of stuff on my DVR I was looking forward to catch up on tonight.

"Error 122," the message reads, informing you of an internal communications failure within your system. But is the error with your TV? Your receiver box? The satellite dish itself? The error is actually tied to an unauthorized Smart Card. What Error 122 dish network Says The complete message for Error 122 reads: "An internal communication failure has been detected. Press 'Select' on your remote control to reset your receiver. If this problem reoccurs, please call DISH Network (1-800-333-3474) for assistance." The reference to the receiver in this message refers to the receiver box that is connected to your TV. While resetting the receiver gets rid of the error dish network error message temporarily, it won't fix the issue permanently. What Error 122 Doesn't Say What makes this error message so difficult to understand -- and ultimately, to fix -- is what it doesn't say. Error 122 is actually tied to an issue with the Smart Card inserted into your DISH Network receiver. Although all DISH Network receivers have a Smart Card slot, not all receivers come with a Smart Card. DISH Network sends Smart Cards intermittently to customers to install new software and update other technology on the receiver without having to replace it. Troubleshooting If resetting your receiver -- by turning it off and unplugging it for at least 10 to 15 seconds -- doesn't work, try removing the Smart Card from the slot on the front of your receiver and gently wiping off any dirt or debris using a soft cloth before reinserting it. If the problem persists, there are two likely causes. The first is a mix-up within DISH Network's account information; this happens when the Smart Card number DISH has on file is not the same as the card number in your receiver. The other pot
