Last night I got it to work, after a bunch of resets and unplugging. I could use the DVR to surf and watch TV. Any function however that used the hard drive, it would pop up the 311. Is there a magic key or button sequence that would tell the receiver to reformat the hard drive? *23[pause][left arrow]34 I get I will lose my recordings ... I do have a tech visit schedule for Monday ... but that leaves the week-end with no TV - gasp!!! Share March 10, 2016 DISH http://www.ebay.com/gds/How-to-Troubleshoot-a-DISH-Network-Receiver-/10000000178758735/g.html Network has a variety of receivers available for its customers. The company's inventory https://dish-network.pissedconsumer.com/dish-network-charges-fifteen-dollars-to-exchange-hard-drive-that-s-failing-20120417312955.html includes DVR and non-DVR receivers. DISH Network also has standard definition and high definition receivers. While the receivers may be different, troubleshooting is the same across the board. Customers need to follow the same steps if their receivers fail to turn on, cannot connect to the Internet, or experience hard drive failure. If troubleshooting does not dish network work, DISH customers should contact the company or the receiver's manufacturer. Receiver Does Not Turn on According to DISH Network, power failures are rare. When they occur, it is typically due to local power outages or faulty surge protectors. There are three troubleshooting options when the receiver fails to turn on. Check the Wall Switch or Power Strip In some cases, the wall switch or power strip might turn dish network hard off, which makes the receiver turn off as well. Make sure the wall switch or power strip is on and operational. If it is, move on to the next option. Push the power button. If that does not fix the problem, move on to the final step. Reset the Receiver Unplug the receiver from the wall or power strip. Count to 10 and plug the receiver back in to the wall or power strip. Wait for the receiver to reset. This might take five minutes. Then, see if the receiver powers on. The final option only works if the issue is limited to a single receiver. Cannot Connect to the Internet The DISH Network receiver needs to connect to the Internet to update content and provide access to movies, TV shows, and premium titles. Dish Network charged me without an invoice I cancelled Dish Network at the end of March, 2012. During the call I was told all commitments were satisfied, but I was still charged an early cancellation fee... Dish network charges fifteen dollars to exchange hard drive that's failing Dallas, Texas Apr 17, 2012 1604 views 1 comment error code came up on dvr we have had for roughly three years saying hard drive failure.Called Dish who explained that yes we read it right, the hard drive is failing and pretty soon it will stop working altogether. She kindly offered to exchange this our dying VIP 722 for a new one. Put the old in the box from the new one and ship it back within thirty days. Not a problem, sent units back before when we upgraded to HD. But now she starts rambling on about how i am going to be charged a fifteen dollar fee on my next bill for replacing their faltering product. She then told me how I could save money with Dish's protection plan. For only six dollars a month additional I will get a free replacement next time their equipment stops working and also if I need a technician to come into my house for whatever reason, I would only pay I think it was$ 25.00 of a $95.00 service charge. I took the $15.00 option fully aware of the fact that the other unit will break eventually. Depending how soon will determine whether I pay a cancellation fee and return both units. Also people, they do increase prices whether you have a contract or not. Read their contract please.I let mine expire for that reason.
