The hardware problems can be associated with poor cabling, incorrect termination or transfer rate settings, lazy or slow device responses to relinquish the SCSI bus, a faulty device, or, in very rare cases, a poorly written device driver. Basically I went from software (o/s, drivers) to component (hdd) to connector (ribbon cable) to motherboard controller. The system runs fine, which I should be grateful for, but murphy's law will surely make this problem manifest itself at a critical time. In the meantime, I'll just keep digging (and backing up frequently!) One of the most frustrating things is not being able to find a definitive source for these Event Vi

Posted by Spamfighter on 28 Oct 2011 15:06 Hmm, while I have ignored the since Aug 5/11 periodic System Events 11 errors, mostly "The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk9\DR9", it that is an MBR error on one of my drives I should perhaps try to correct it. But how can I determine which drive is at fault? Do I simply start counting starting with Zero in my Device Manager's listing? e.g. would it be my 2nd Raid 0 set installed with AW help Dec. 10? Those reported errors started only on Aug 5/11 with Harddrive 10\DR10 reported 6 times, then Harddrive 9\DR9 5 times on Aug 6, an "unconventional" report of Harddrive 9\DR10 on Aug 15 and on 4 separate dates between Aug 21 to Oct 24 with 14 reported Harddrive 9\DR9 errors(was away for over 6 weeks) The reported USB flash drive is usually always connected to a USB port on my monitor where my USB Logitec Camera is also always connected. From time to time I have had my camera's flash drive connected to upload pictures which may have been on dates when those errors were reported..As I did that recently, it could well have been on Oct 24 when the l
