same error. I know what device that is causing this because it only happens when I have either my Verbatim external drive or any one of 5 different USB sticks. I am running Windows 7 x64 with a Corsair 220 gb SSD. I have a second hard drive which is all data. I call it my D:\Drive. Everything in Event Viewer is great until one of the USB or Verbatim external drive is plugged in and then the errors start. I have run chk /dsk on the driver detected a controller error on device harddisk3 dr3 event 11 all USB's and the external drive and no help. There are no BSODs or Hangs or boot problems, so you may ask why I'm concerned. Well I believe there has to be some sort of explanation for this error and I really would love to get to the bottom of it before it is an issue. It's strange that all the articles from Microsoft that concern this really say nothing. Nothing simple anyway. If anyone is familiar with this error and what it really means please let me know. I actually took this to a repair tech and he said if it's not giving me problems don't bother with it. Glad I didn't have to pay for that. There might be a problem with the USB driver, or hardware (controller). Have you tried plugging in the USB drives into other USB ports on the machine? Do you have another computer that you could plug these devices into? That would rule out damaged USB dev

On this server I have internal RAID volumes, an external iSCSI drive (DroboPro), and several USB 2.0 hard drives attached. How can I determine what hard drive / storage device is "\Device\Harddisk2\DR2"? Thanks in advance for any feedback. That's the first place I looked but I'm unsure how to correlate Harddisk2\DR2 to any of those drives. Is "DR2" = "Disk 2"? Attached is a screenshot for reference. The Write Through Policy was a temporary solution till the new controller battery has arrived. x 233 Anonymous I've had three of these errors pop up on our Level Platforms alerts. One of them I was able to find the cause by simply installing Dell OpenManager Server Administrator and taking a look at the storage. The firmware driver was out of date. That would be a driver detected a good first place to start. The other two alerts did not have a similar find. x 309 W4tch3r ‹•¿•› I am getting this error using multiple drives in a Shintaro USB3 drive caddy. After lots of drive and cable swapping I have discovered it happens because I have the drive caddy plugged into a Noontec USB3 hub. When I bypass the hub and go straight to the PC it does not happen. I do not know yet if the problem is with the Noontec hub or the Shintaro drive dock. x 315 Alexander Freudenberg In certain conditions, this error message is related to the S.M.A.R.T attribute 187 (Reported uncorrectable errors). When a physical sector of the disk is read by an application (e.g. a SMART test tool or a simple copy command) and a sector is "unstable", meaning that the drive electronics (hardware ECC) is unable to correctly read the sector, then Windows logs Event ID 11. To solve the error, a full SMART scan with repair (reallocation of unstable sectors) should be performed. x 352 Anonymous I got this error after buying a new power supply. ByManikle Apr 6, 2010 I went into Event Viewer and see that there is frequently the same error on Harddisk 1 and Harddisk4----BUT I only have 1 harddrive in my computer and have never had more than 1 harddrive. It shows that "disk" is the source of Event 11 and the details state: "The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk4\DR4" OR "The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk1\DR1" There have been 359 instances of this error over the past 24 hours. The other frequent error is: Event 1002 Source Dhcp Client "The IP address lease 192.168.1.6 for the Network Card with network address 002268055E38 has been denied by the DHCP server" My system does get some BSODs, though not daily, only once or twice a week, but it seems obvious that something is amiss if the Event Viewer shows so many daily errors--or do all computers have a large number of errors daily in the event viewer? Thanks, in advance. Try removing them to see if the events persist or stop. Re: the DHCP errors I see those type errors time to time as well. I think those can occur when it comes
