Is "DR2" = "Disk 2"? Attached is a screenshot for reference. Thanks again. 0 Mace OP Rockn Feb 19, 2013 at 3:36 UTC Does diskpart give you more detailed info? 0 Mace OP LarryG. 0 Sonora OP derektom Feb 20, 2013 at 1:13 UTC Thanks for the feedback, Rockn, LarryG., and Fishsauce. diskpart didn't give me any helpful info beyond what the Disk Management console had already provided. I have HP RAID management software but it didn't really help either since I have so many other hard drives (USB, iSCSI) that are not on the internal RAID. The error said: Event ID 11: driver the driver detected a controller error on device harddisk1 dr6 detected a controller error on Device \Device\Harddisk1\DR2. All errors occurred 07-06-2009 every some seconds. In that moment, I think system was at suspend mode, but I'm not sure. Anyway I didn't noticed any strange or instability. https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/304581-driver-detected-a-controller-error-which-hdd-is-device-harddisk2-dr2 Two weeks ago I used Seatool to check for errors and both, short and advanced test were passed. Today I ran Seatool again but only short test and again passed. I also tested with chkdsk/r to check boot sectors and no errors. Tomorrow I'll do an extended test again but I think it'll go okay too. Finally I found that the reason of this error was a pendrive I put on USB port and that Windows told me to repair it because it contains problems. Indeed I plugged out the device wrongly because when I saved a .txt document, notepad crashed. Windows Disk Manager (I don't know the exact name in English) recognize my hard disk as 0 and the log said disk 1 (I assume it was the pendrive). The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk2\DR2. Which disk is Harddisk2 and what is DR2? Is Harddisk2 the third port on the SATA bus (in the sequence 0,1 2,3) or possibly the third drive on the disk mamagement screen (in the sequence 0,1 2,3) or it could be the second drive in (in the sequence 0,1 2,3) as sometimes I see disk 0 listed as disk 1 (because it is the first drive). If DR2 is the partition, then is it the second or third partition? As far as I know, in WIN7 on the disk management screen, the drives are always labeled Disk 0, Disk 1, etc but in some utilities, I have seen disk 0 referred to as disk 1 since it is the first drive. Also I am not sure if Harddisk2 if the drive number or the SATA port since it is proceeded by \Device. The event ID is 11.
