Hp Eio Hard Disk J6054bWe've been out for the summer at the school district I work for and during that time the custodians did a deep clean on the room. This involved unplugging and removing everything from the room. http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/posts/38888 I am now going back through and reconnecting everything including quite a few LJ2200 printers. The problem I am having is that more than a few (about 8) are now having issues where they won't stay online, the odd thing is they all are acting the same. When plugged in and powered on the attention light blinks and in the web console for the printer I get a status of Off Line https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/253098-hp-laserjet-2200-getting-error-40-eio w/ a 40 EIO error. On most of them if you press the continue button the light goes off and the printer seems to be ok. But if you try to print to it the printer goes right back to the 40 EIO status (though sometimes pressing the continue button will produce your print). I've replaced the jet direct card in one or two of the printers, but the issue persists. I am not sure where to go from here to solve the issue. Was repeatable on another Tru64 box, but only with that job. Also only was repeatable on the HP 4100 DTN printers; other printers didn't have this problem. Web search turned up a bunch of garbage except for one shining jewel, which mentioned that using PCL drivers instead of Postscript solved the problem. I changed the /etc/printcap entry to /usr/lbin/hplaserof and it worked. Woo hoo! You are viewing proxied material from sdf.org. The copyright of proxied material belongs to its original authors.
