It could be a co-incidence that this error began 82.0180 eio 2 error hp 4050 displaying a few days ago after I set Spiceworks to start doing scheduled inventory scans. I don't believe it is the result of a scheduled Spiceworks inventory scan because it doesn't happen when the rescan link for the device is clicked. Any thoughts? 2009 at 7:55 UTC Just checked with Google and found a similar problem on HP's IT Resources Center website, back in 2005. In this particular case, the problem was found to be caused by excessive SNMP network scan! Turn on the printer. Reseat the EIO board. It might be possible to upgrade the EIO card firmware, although sometimes it is not possible to connect to it when the printer is in an error condition. Contact a network administrator. NOTE: If the steps listed in this document do not return the printer to a READY state, service may be required. Contact the HP Customer Care Center for more information. The EIO accessory in slot X has encountered a critical error as specified by YYYY. All printers pull a reserved ip address from their dhcp server eveytime the eio 2 error network is initialized. Also ports are designated for each device. The office person was out and their computer was off so I could not personally try test prints. When I arrived to this printer it had a message saying Processing that it was stuck on. I rebooted and it got all the way to "Cartridge Installed" and it would not go away. Would not respond to key presses and shows a steady green Ready light. Removing the cartridge made no change but motor would cycle after closing door. 2nd reboot same thing except the Data light was steady green as well. Removed lan cable and all accessories and it would boot ok. Then after a few seconds of inserting lan cable it will show Processing forever. One time after booting without the network cable I tried to print a config page. 1st page came out then it was just stuck with the message "Printing Configuration". Other times this did not happen. Config page shows error 82.0180 which is a network error. Also I saw this error come up one time while I was there. Printer has 615N jetdirect card and I tried installing it from EIO 2 to 1. Printer will not boot all the way and get stuck on "***************". Put card back into slot 2. Eventually I could even boot to ready even with network cable. Before it goes to processing the config page shows it pulls the ip ad
The client insists his network connection is okay. Any thoughts? Respond to this 0 Alan you should have posted this with the 40 EIO error and the make and model printer in the subject line. Click on the edit button and change the subject so Moe does not delete the post. I assume this is a HP printer with a display. I have seen this and here is what I had to do to solve the issue. I do not know if you have the same situation, but mine was related to the switch on the network and the MAC address. What I did was run a config sheet so I had the network settings for the IP address and Gateway. Next I performed a cold reset of the printer and after it initialized and came to ready, I waited about 2 minutes for it to find its own ip address with DHCP. I then connected the printer to a local machine via tcp/ip using xp just to see if it printed ok without the 40 EIO error. If that worked, then I went into the printer menu and changed the ip address to the original ip address and tested and it worked ok. The place I had to do this had replaced the jet direct card and set it up using hp network software and they kept on getting the 40 error. Once I did the cold reset and setup the card using the menu on the printer the 40 errors disappeared. I hope this works for you. I had a summary of the error in the subject box, but got sidetracked so somehow managed to send it without that information.
