properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has how to fix socket error 10060 failed to respond. Please keep in mind that Winsock Errors are Microsoft Windows Sockets (TCP) errors, not DameWare error, and typically when a error code 10060 connection timeout source firewall Winsock 10060 error is reported it's typically either due to an improperly configured Firewall (hardware or software), a Names Resolution issue, or even improper routing within your network implementation (especially when VPNs or multiple NICs are involved). https://www.techwalla.com/articles/how-to-fix-winsock-error-10060-connection-timed-out These configuration issues then cause the TCP Socket to timeout, which then causes the Winsock 10060 error to occur. Unfortunately, there are no settings within our software that would either cause, or prevent a Winsock 10060 error (or any other Winsock error) from occuring. However, here are some things you can try: First make sure that all routers & firewalls between the Local & Remote Machines, and any firewall software on the remote machine itself (i.e. http://support.dameware.com/kb/article.aspx?ID=300060 Windows Firewall for SP2 or Vista, etc..) are properly configured to allow the necessary traffic to pass through. Our software is compatible with any firewall (hardware or software), but you must properly configure the firewall to allow the necessary traffic to pass through. Otherwise the connection will timeout with a Winsock 10060 error. Please see the following knowledgebase article for more information: Using DameWare Development Products in Conjunction with XP Service Pack 2 Also, if you are currently using version 6.x of the software, then after you install v6.x of the MRC Client Agent Service on the remote machine, once the Client Agent starts up it should automatically create a port exception in the Windows Firewall (under Vista or XP) for the specified TCP port used for communication (default is TCP 6129). But make note this does not open the ports required to remotely install, remove, start, or stop the MRC Client Agent Service, only the port specified to use for communication. Additionally, when using the MRC software over VPN connections to connect to these remote machines, you also need to keep in mind that the VPN may actually assign your local machine a different (VPN) IP-Address (depending on how your VPN is configured, and whether it's VPN software or hardware). So you would have to make sure this VPN range of assigned addresses are also

I am stumped knowing where to post. I have been banging my head in solving this peculiar problem. I just got an unmanaged VPS. I have to install and configure everything: installed IIS, DNS server which I have done. I also setup and configured FTP so I can transfer my files. Having done that, I wanted to now upload the files, but I kept getting: 500 Connection timed out (Winsock error #10060) error messages. I have been in some mess before, and the good people here rescued me, and I pray and I hope that people will be able to offer assistance. My hosts are not too helpful. They only said it has to do with server configuration and management. Suggestions and assistance would be highly appreciated Reply With Quote 0 04-29-2014,06:24 PM #2 JacobN View Profile View Forum Posts View Forum Threads Visit Homepage Junior Guru Wannabe Join Date Jan 2013 Location Virginia Beach, Va Posts 52 What FTP software are you running on your server? Also what FTP client are you using on your local computer to try to connect? Your error message means that the connection is timing out before it can be established. You might want to temporarily disable any firewalls on your server or local computer to try to rule out any issues with the connection itself between your computer and the server. I would load up a command prompt or terminal on your local machine and try to use the FTP command directly like: Code: ftp example.com On one of the servers I tested, this is what my output looks like: Code: Connected to example.com. 220---------- Welcome to Pure-FTPd [pr
