Select that directory. On the right side of the screen, right-click on CDCache. Change the value to 0. I'm not sure if that was good advice or not because it got rid of one error message but left another...... I have used this microsoft office 2003 program for years with no problem. When I repaired XP sp2 after a problem with Trend MicroCillin 2007 the Windows installer started to play up. I ended up uninstalling MS office error 1311 2003 after having installer popping up every time I tried to open Office progs. When I tried to reinstall MSO 03 but got the following error message: 'Error 1311 source file not found c:\msocache\allusers\90000409-6000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9\E3561406.cab' I tried Windows install cleanup to remove the installer problem then installed Windows Installer 3.1 also tried a full file upgrade of Office sp3. Only got 'patch could not error 1311 c be installed errors'. Then tried reinstalling XP sp2 with current upgrades - no good. I saw a post elsewhere about changing the permissions on msocache - but I can't even find the darn file. I tried copying the files off the cd onto my hard drive - no good either. That's it, I'm out of ideas. Stuck again. Any assistance much appreciated Regards Jim Sponsored Links 06-09-2007, 10:00 AM #2 Mary Sauer Guest Posts: n/a Re: 'error 1311 source file not found' when reinstalling Office 03 See: "Error 1311: cannot locate source file" error message when you install a 2007 Office suite or Office 2003 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/818234/en-us OFF: Error Messages When You Try to Run Office Setup on Windows XP http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310777/en-us -- Mary Sauer MSFT MVP http://office.microsoft.com/ http://msauer.mvps.org/ news://msnews.microsoft.com "jim6149"

SKU011.cab missing Started by ino88 , Jan 07 2010 02:01 PM Please log in to reply 2 replies to this topic #1 ino88 ino88 New Member Members 8 posts Posted 07 January 2010 - 02:01 PM Hello there, When attempting to open Excel a Window Installer opens and I am told that I'm missing SKU011.CAB. I've read about this elsewhere and the regular solution seems to be using Registry Editor to change the CDCache value from 2 to 0 (found here: http://www.sku011cab.com/). When I do this it still does not work. The Windows Installer still opens but instead of prompting for the missing SKUO11.CAB I receive the following error: "Error 1311. Source file not found C:\MSOCache\All Users\90000409-6000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9\E2561410.CAB. Very that the file exists and that you can access it." That error goes away by changing the 0 back to a 2, but of course the missing SKU011.CAB problem returns. I don't know what the right way to go about it is, changing it to 0 and fixing the Error, leaving a 2 and fixing the missing file problem, or something else all together. I am using Microsoft Office 2003, I do not have a CD for it because it came loaded on the laptop which I bought from Dell, so any solution requiring that unfortunately won't work. Anything would be helpful. Thanks in advance Ino88 Back to top #2 lugnut lugnut Advanced Member Advanced Member 831 posts Location:Indiana Posted 07 January 2010 - 05:23 PM try this fix... 1. I am prompted for a CD, which as I mentioned I do not have. If I click OK it tells me that I could also use the file titled SDIPN11.MSI, if I find it in a folder, which I cannot. Clicking Cancel reveals another Error Message. This time. Error 1706: Setup cannot find the required files. Check your connection to the network, or CD-ROM d
