Error 1311 Trust

few minutes. Join Now Hi, Right, I'm stumped. And here's why: We have three offices linked by IPsec tunnels through Cisco Pix's. The tunnels work fine and all ports are open between the offices. Each office is on a 2003 R2 domain, and we've established two-way transitive forest trusts error 1311 spss between them. The problem is that when establishing a two way trust with domain 1, the other

domains won't trust it. They establish two way trusts at both sites, but cannot vaildate the trust, so it fails. The error provided is: The secure channel

one R2. The schema is R2 (obviously), and everything else functions fine on the network. The clocks on all servers are synched, DNS works like a charm within and between domains, the newer DC (R2) has the pdc emulator and other roles. The older DC just provides backup AD and the DHCP server role. Domains 2 and 3 trust each other like husband and wife. Better, in fact. Any ideas? I would check DNS again and maybe run some diag utils like dcdiag (run dcdiag /? for DNS specific testes) and netdiag. How is WINS configured? I believe that NetBios resolution is still required for Domain trusts to be validated. A way to test this would be to modify the LMHost files on the servers involved and see if it works. Not a fix but certainly a way to test to see if it's a name resolution issue or not. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;180094 HTH Mike 0 Cayenne OP Tom Peach-Geraghty Jun 20, 2008 at 4:09 UTC Thanks for the help. Ok, dcdiag shows all passes, for all tests. Netdiag passes all tests, but does show this: NetBT name test. . . . . . . . . . : Passed [WARNING] You don't have a single interface with the <00> 'WorkStation Service', <03> 'Messenger Service', <20> 'WINS' names defined. WINS is installed on each of the three servers, and set to replicate to each other. I've put the entries in the LMHOSTS file (on all three servers), and checked the names are registered. Lookups with DNS and WINS work ok. Still getting the same error though :( 0 Poblano OP mike6252 Jun 20, 2008 at 8:49 UTC The only other th
