The error is: Error 1311. Source file not http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-windows_programs/error-1311-when-installing-ms-office-home-and/4ef17bea-e58f-4420-bc17-006ed9e5dc81 found: E:\SKU112.CAB. Verify that the file exists and that you can accesss it. No, i checked the file is not there, but i used the disk a week before on the sam pc and it worked just fine. The reason, if you are wondering why i am using it on the same pc, is that i uninstalled it and several other programs. https://forums.techguy.org/threads/solved-error-installing-microsoft-office-2007.801837/ Fooly_411, Feb 17, 2009 #1 Sponsor 1002richards Trusted Advisor Joined: Jan 29, 2006 Messages: 5,321 Hi, I hope this guide from Microsoft helps? http://support.microsoft.com/kb/818234/en-us Richard 1002richards, Feb 18, 2009 #2 azmak Joined: Jan 21, 2009 Messages: 57 it seems there is a different version of office still present on your system try to follow Microsoft KB 928218, try to install office in clean boot mode. copy the files from your disk on to your system and then try to install. azmak, Feb 18, 2009 #3 Fooly_411 Thread Starter Joined: Jan 4, 2009 Messages: 32 thanks guys Fooly_411, Feb 21, 2009 #4 1002richards Trusted Advisor Joined: Jan 29, 2006 Messages: 5,321 You're welcome. 1002richards, Feb 22, 2009 #5 Sponsor This thread has been Locked and is not open to further replies. Error 1311 when installing Office 2007 Started by Kat232 , Feb 26 2007 12:17 AM Please log in to reply #1 Kat232 Posted 26 February error 1311 2007 - 12:17 AM Kat232 Member Member 17 posts I have Office 2003 Pro and am trying to upgrade to 2007, though it's the Home and Student edition. When I try installing the upgrade from cd, it comes up with error 1311: Can't find source file E:\sku111.cab. What should I do? 0 Advertisements #2 Jrenter2 Posted 01 March 2007 - 01:27 PM Jrenter2 Member Member 435 posts Hi Kat232,Here is something for you to try. The files should be on the Microsoft Office source file not Professional 2003 disk. But in order for the installer to find the files you need to allow the system to show hidden files, and also not hide extensions. here is how: 1.Click Start, and then click My Computer. 2. Click Folder Options on the Tools menu. 3. Click the View tab. 4. Click Show hidden files and folders under Hidden files and folders. 5. Clear the Hide file extensions for known file types check box. Next run your Office program that gives you problems and then when you browse to show it the files, just select your cdrom/dvdrom drive where your disk is. When the install is complete, go back and hide your files/folders again.Hope this helps. Found what I needed to anyway. Unfortunatley, allowing the system to see every single possible file did no good. Office Home and Student 2007 still says the same error - Source file not found: E:\sku111.cab. Though why would it be looking for that file name in the E:\ drive, which is my dvd drive, when it's listed on Microsoft's webiste as the Office Professional 2003 file? More ideas? eeeeeeeeek. 0 #4 Tim At Tamerlane Posted 07 May 2010 - 03:05 PM Tim At Tamerlane New Member Member 1 posts All be it a little late,
