Verify that the file error 1311.source file not found windows 7 exists and that you can access it.” Solutions Errors 1311, 1335, and 2350 occur when the installer is unable to access the necessary files from the DVD/CD-ROM drive. These errors can also occur if antivirus software interferes with an installation, or if the installation files are compressed. Solution 1: Check the product installer disc. Make sure that the DVD or CD-ROM from which you are installing is free of dirt and debris. If necessary, clean the DVD/CD-ROM with a soft, lint-free cloth. Ensure that the installation disc is inserted into the drive letter identified in the error message. Note: Many computers have more than one DVD/CD-ROM drive. Solution 2: Temporarily disable antivirus software, and then install the product. For instructions, see the documentation for the antivirus software or contact the manufacturer. C:\WINNT|Downloaded Installations\{#}\ Data1.CAB. Verify that the file exists, and that you can access it. I believe that the user computer is not able to access the contents of the CAB file; and since Setup and the MSI are external https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/install-error-1311-1335-or.html to the CAB the install simply fails. Do I need to include a Merge Module or some other type of scripting in order for the user computer to be able to access the CAB file and complete the install? Or am I completely off base and need to use another approach? RobertDickau06-21-2004, 09:32 AMNo, you shouldn't need to do anything special for that media layout. Does the issue described in this Microsoft KB article apply: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;325076? Scytec0106-21-2004, http://community.flexerasoftware.com/archive/index.php?t-135248.html 09:53 AMThanks for the response but I don't think it applies to my situation because I am logged on as an administrator and have full access. Jeff chmose06-21-2004, 01:10 PMI'm getting the same thing with installshield 9 devstudio. Things work fine doing a network install and creating just 1 single setup.exe but using the cd-rom type I get the exact same error. Also logged in as system admin and verified that the cd-rom restriction is not in place. Jessica Zhang09-01-2004, 03:59 PMI get same error message (Error 1311. Source file not found: C:\WINNT|Downloaded Installations\{#}\ Data1.CAB.) with InstallShieldX. When I copied Data1.cab from media folder to this Downloaded folder with Retry, it go through the installation. Is this file should be copied by InstallShield? Or I need have some settings done when build the Media? Scytec0109-01-2004, 04:43 PMI was able to fix this error by adding a single key file to each of the directories present in my project. When I initially added the files to my Basic MSI project there were a few directories that did not have a key file. I am still an Installshield X newbie so I cannot tell you specifically what the key file does, only that once I added at least one to each directory in my project that it compiled and worked as advertised. I added the key files using the Installation Des

Solved Windows Installer Error 1311 Source File not found Posted on 2012-06-08 Windows OS Windows 7 3 Verified Solutions 13 Comments 2,466 Views Last Modified: 2012-06-24 I am attempting to install a program on a Windows 7 machine. I have run this particular installer without any difficulty on another Windows 7 machine, so it's not a corrupt installer. It's packaged as a .exe ... which I run ... and it unpacks itself into a users/Username/appdata/... subfolder In that subfolder I find an MSI file, a .aiui file (since the installer was built using Advanced Installer) and disk1.cab. It gathers all its information, including which features to install. It then pops an error claiming that the disk1.cab file cannot be found. It lists the full file path -- where disk1.cab exists. Both the logged in user and the Administrators group have Full Control rights on the file. I've tried just double-clicking the .exe as well as right-clicking and choosing Run as Administrator with identical results. Using Google, I find lots of articles that apply only if installing from a CD. There's a security policy option that specifically blocks CD access to users other than the one locally logged in. But this isn't on a CD. It's sitting in the user's Downloads folder. What should I try on this? Thanks! 0 Question by:Daniel Wilson Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 32 Best Solution byDaniel Wilson As it turns out, the install set was corrupted during download.
