'[file.cab]' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package" Posted by - NA - on 28/05/2009 14:43 You receive the following message when installing F-PROT Antivirus:"Error 1335: The https://kb.cyren.com/av-support/?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/177 cabinet file '[file.cab]' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package." This is a Windows Installer error http://www.mojocode.com/content/java-installation-issues-windows-7-64-bit-error-1335-data1cab that may occur for different cabinet file names located on the installation media (usually on CD).To solve this problem, please select Abort on the suggested options. Then reboot your computer, copy the contents of the CD-ROM to your error 1335 hard disk and try to run the installation again locally. To copy the contents of the CD-ROM to your hard disk, do the following:Right-click the desktop, point to New, and then click Folder. Type a name for your folder, such as FPAV, and then press ENTER. Hold down SHIFT and insert the FPAV CD-ROM into the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive. The SHIFT key prevents the Setup program from running automatically. Double-click the My Computer icon on error 1335 the your Desktop. Right-click your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive, and then click Explore. On the Edit menu, click Select All. On the Edit menu, click Copy. Right-click the folder that you created in step 2, and then click Paste. Then install F-PROT Antivirus from the FPAV folder on your Desktop. Do the following:Double-click the folder that you created earlier that contains the contents of your FPAV CD-ROM. Double-click the .msi file to start Windows Installer and F-PROT Antivirus Setup. Complete Setup by following the instructions on the screen. Restart your computer after Setup is complete. Verify that F-PROT Antivirus opens successfully. Delete the folder on your desktop that contains the contents of the FPAV CD-ROM. If the procedure above does not work, please perform clean boot on your computer. When you start Microsoft Windows normally, there are a number of programs that start automatically and run in the background. These programs, which may include antivirus and system utility programs, may sometimes interfere with the installation of a new program. When you perform a clean boot before you install a new program, you prevent these programs from starting automatically. For more information about how to perform a clean boot, see the following: 310353 - How to perform a clean boot in Windows XP 281770 - How to perform clean-boot troubleshooting for Windows 2000 If the suggestions in th
on Windows 7 64-bit; Error 1335 with Data1.cab By steve - Posted on 22 January 2013 As most people now know, java being installed (and seldom updated) on nearly every system running Windows has created major security problems, what with all of the security holes being "day one" exploited. The proper solution (as is the case with most security problems) is to remove something when it isn't specifically needed! When I looked at my own system, I had disabled java from being activated by the browser (disabling the add-ins for chrome, IE, Firefox, etc.) so I was relatively safe from website/ad based attacks, but I also found that I was running three different installations of java including two for 32-bit and one for 64-bit. I figured the easy thing to do was remove all of them, then add back the freshest version of one I needed for my Eclipse IDE to work. Uninstall went fairly well, but I had problems when I tried to install the 64-bit version of java. Every time I installed it, I would get: Error 1335: The cabinet file Data1.cab required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. I tried lots of different things from the googles, but it took a combination of things to get it to finally install... Here's what I did to get the install for win7 64-bit java to work: Clean out your TEMP folder. (Open a cmd window and: "cd %TEMP%" then "cd .." and "rmdir temp /s" [you may need to disable some running services to get everything to clear out]) Disable your anti-virus real-time scan. Download the Win7 64-bit version of java using the manual download from here http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp Optionally, move the download to your desktop or some other folder so it isn't starting from downloads. (I keep a fixes folder on my system where all the downloads I have are saved in folders named each vendor.) Right-click the file and click "Run as administrator" Follow the prompts and java 64-bit should now install. Be sure to enable your anti-virus real-time scan. The key steps are to disable your antivirus and install using the "Run as Administrator" option. Cleaning the TEMP folder out seemed to help as well.
