on Windows 7 64-bit; Error 1335 with Data1.cab By steve - Posted on 22 January 2013 As most people now know, java being installed (and seldom updated) on nearly every system running Windows has created major security problems, what with all of the security holes being

(disabling the add-ins for chrome, IE, Firefox, etc.) so I was relatively safe from website/ad based attacks, but I also found that I was running three different installations of java including two for 32-bit and one for 64-bit. I figured error 1335 office 2010 the easy thing to do was remove all of them, then add back the freshest version of one I needed for my Eclipse IDE to work. Uninstall went fairly well, but I had problems when I tried to install the 64-bit version of java. Every time I installed it, I would get: Error 1335: The cabinet file Data1.cab required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. I tried lots of different things from the googles, but it took error 1335 libreoffice a combination of things to get it to finally install... Here's what I did to get the install for win7 64-bit java to work: Clean out your TEMP folder. (Open a cmd window and: "cd %TEMP%" then "cd .." and "rmdir temp /s" [you may need to disable some running services to get everything to clear out]) Disable your anti-virus real-time scan. Download the Win7 64-bit version of java using the manual download from here http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp Optionally, move the download to your desktop or some other folder so it isn't starting from downloads. (I keep a fixes folder on my system where all the downloads I have are saved in folders named each vendor.) Right-click the file and click "Run as administrator" Follow the prompts and java 64-bit should now install. Be sure to enable your anti-virus real-time scan. The key steps are to disable your antivirus and install using the "Run as Administrator" option. Cleaning the TEMP folder out seemed to help as well. I had to change the folder name to my version of the installer ("jdk1.7.0_02_combo"), but it worked. Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 31. Re: Problems Installing JDK 7u2 Windows 64-bit 922250 Mar 7, 2012 6:26 AM (in response to 918110) I have exactly the same problem on Windows 7 (32-bit) - installer bombs out before anything happens. It does seem to create the local 'jdk1.7.0_03_combo' directory and then delete it straight away. I have UAC disabled. I tried the solution posted by user6112349 but I get stuck at the final step. After extracting the file java_jdk.exe and launching it, I get the following errors: "Error 1335 the cabinet file 'st170030.cab' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used...". Retrying does not help and ignoring the error shows "Internal error 2350" and causes the install to unwind. I've cleaned off every version of Java I could find on my system, but I doubt I ever had the SDK previously installed. I have also cleaned out anything Java-related from the Windows registry. I downloaded the original EXE five times already and used Winmerge to determine all 5 copies are identical and therefore not corrupted during the download process. It really seems this download is just plain broken on some machines - this is my main development laptop that I use daily for C++ development as well as recreation and study, so if anything was particularly broken on this machine I should have noticed by now. I've never had problems installing any other MSI's, so I doubt the problem lies with Windows Installer. I have since also tried a reboot in case an update
