Ipod Shuffle Error 1429
have a error 1429? I purchased a replacement battery kit from iFixit and after I received it I went to their web site and followed their instructions on how to change the battery. I followed each step as described https://discussions.apple.com/thread/925213?tstart=0 and reversed the procedure step by step. When I hocked it up to my computer the computer told me it did not recognize the item I had hooked up. I tried to reboot the iPod but it told me that there was a error 1429 and it wanted me to disconnect the iPod. Can someone tell me what to do to get my iPod to work and retain all info I have installed over the last 9 years. https://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/153061/Why+do+I+have+a+error+1429 Answered! I suggest that you run the diagnostics to check on the drive as well as the other hardware. To access the diagnostic menu as well as to find out what those test mean, check on here. Sometimes what happens is that the drive gets stuck and some people swear that by slapping the iPod really hard, it may free up the drive. Of course, you also want to double check your work and make sure that the HDD cable is properly attached. Your "retain all info I have installed over the last 9 years." should be relatively safe if you have performed any updates and synced the iPod. Those files are in the restore files on the computer you used fir that. Hope this helps, good luck. Was this answer helpful? The same message appears now when I plug it in: "iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode. You must restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes." I have restored my iPod. or so it leads me to believe. "Your iPod has been restored to factory settings, and is restarting. Please leave your iPod connected. It will appear in the iTunes window after it restarts." And then, the same message appears on the summary page: "iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode. You must restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes." I do not understand what is wrong with it. I've already tried fixing it according to the apple site, but I can't
