I have installed the newest iTunes and have repeated this process many times. I have tried different USB ports and cords. I have a PC (with Windows corrupted ipod classic 160gb Vista) and when I put my iPod in "disc mode" and went to it's properties, it also will not restore. Help! You would do that by connecting it to itunes and then when it says "unable to connect" and you get the front page of your ipod (where it shows how much gigs you have and how many songs and stuff on your ipod) and click "restore to factory settings" that will completely erase everything you had on there...If you have and it STILL doesn't work, just bring it back to Apple....they can fix it & probably give you a new one as long as it's been less then a year since you've bought it or you have the premium care package that you were recommended to buy when you got your ipod. Hope that helps, best of luck! Source(s): my mind O.o kai · 7 yea
