I have uninstalled and reinstalled countless times--several times with my firewall and virus scanner turned off--and I have also registered the .ocx file manually (successfully, according to the message I received). Some of them refuse to work because they say there is a newer version available. When I check IE7's add-ons, there is no Active-X control for me to enable. I found the fix. http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flashplayer9/releasenotes.html#install Download the Uninstaller Open the Windows Command Prompt ( Run > cmd ). Navigate to the directory where the uninstaller was downloaded. Run "uninstall_flash_player.exe /clean." Do it twice. I don't know why the /clean switch makes a difference, but it does. HRESULT 2147220473 really confused, because I didn't know why this is happen. FYI I use Windows 7 64-bit. After trying about 3 hours (it waste my time so much) finally I found the solution.1. Uninstall your Adobe Flash player activeX, or error 1904 you can download the adobe flash player uninstaller here.2. Clean your registry using CCleaner, because maybe there's some data left on registry.3. Restart Your Computer4. Close all of your application and install your Adobe Flash Player 9 ActiveX5. When you install it, maybe there's still an error 1904, but don't worry about that. Just finish your installation.6. Go to Command Prompt, and change directory into C:\Windows\sysWOW64\macromed\flash.7. Type error 1904 flash9d.ocx regsvr32 flash9d.ocx.This solution works like a charm for me.
