This http://www.technipages.com/google-play-download-unsuccessful-error-fix seems to be a common error for the entire line of Android devices. http://androidforums.com/threads/youtube-network-problem-401.231850/ Luckily, the fix was easy for me. If you're experiencing the same problem, give these steps a try. Fix 1 - Restart First, give a power down and restart of your device a try. Be sure to power it completely off. Unlock the screen. Press and hold the "Power" button error 401 until a menu appears. Select "Power off". Wait for the device to power off. Wait 10 seconds, then press and hold the "Power" button to power the device back on. See if you can download items now. Fix 2 - Clear App Data If a power down didn't fix your issue, try these steps. Open "Settings". Select "Applications". Select "Manage Applications". Tap the error 401 twitter "All" tab, then scroll down and select "Google Play Store". Select "Clear cache". Back out of the screen and select "Download Manager" (May also be listed as "Downloads"). Select "Clear data". Also clear data for "Google Services Framework", "Google Apps", "Google Hangouts", and "Checkin Service". Some users are reporting they had to clear data for the "Browser" and "Chrome" apps as well. I have the latest update of the YouTube app. When I open the YouTube app it says "There was a problem with the network [401]". It doesn't show my own uploads, favorites, or playlists, only shows the error message. It also doesn't show the "Reccomended for You". I've tried clearing the YouTube data and restarting my phone and am still getting the same problem. I can still do searchs and watch videos though. Help!? Any suggestions? P.S. When do I get Gingerbread?! Settings/About Phone/System Updates says: Your system is currently up to date.... No it's noT! Give me Gingerbread! I fixed the problem by going onto YouTube on my computer, signing in with my google account details and setting up a user name for myself. I hadn't done this before, lol! Don't know if that helps at all; I have an Xperia Arc on Gingerbread with the latest update of YouTube, and a relatively new google account (I recently got married and changed my name).
