Unauthorized Access In Epf
26, 2009 01:33 PM|bronze_fonz|LINK IIS is not my forte. Installed IIS 6 on my Windows 2K3 server recently to allow functionality for a new app we need in our company. I can't get past step one! IIS https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/871179 is up and running but when I browse to the server both localhost and from the network I get the 401.1 error page. You are not authorized to view this page You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied. HTTP Error 401.1 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials. Internet Information Services (IIS) I have used the AuthDiag tool and various KB articles https://forums.iis.net/t/next/1163100 to clear a list of about 10 errors relating to the 401.1 problem and now I'm down to 2 errors in the AuthDiag tool and still hitting the 401.1 page. Below are my 2 remaining errors, any direction would be much appreciated! Server's response: HTTP/1.1 401 Unauthorized Learn about IIS status codes Path:W3SVC/1/ROOT AuthType:Anonymous Server's response: HTTP/1.1 401 Unauthorized Learn about IIS status codes Path:W3SVC/1/ROOT/aspnet_client AuthType:Anonymous Reply tomkmvp 9756 Posts MVPModerator Re: Out of Options on HTTP Error 401.1 Mar 26, 2009 01:49 PM|tomkmvp|LINK 401.1 means that it can't authenticate, usually because of a bad username or bad password. If you want to allow anonymous access then this is probably happening because the password provided in the IIS MMC for the anonymous user account (IUSR_yourservername by default) is wrong. Manually change it to something known and then go back to User Manager and change it there too. I changed the password for the IUSR account and then changed the password being used under bothDirectory Security under Web Sites and Default Web Site. I'm still getting the same 401.1 page. Did I miss anything here? Reply tomkmvp 9756 Posts MVPModerator Re: Out of Options on

One of the requirements is to have "Integrated Windows Authentication" disabled on the Virtual directory. http://localhost/test.html When http error 401.1 I disable that, I get a error 401.1 on the IIS root's test.html, which consists of "Hello World" You are not authorized to view this page You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied. Please try the following: •Contact the Web site administrator if you believe you should be able to view this directory or page. •Click the Refresh button to try again with different credentials. HTTP Error 401.1 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials. Internet Information Services (IIS) When IWM is enabled, the website works like a gem. Does anyone know what is the root cause? This doesn't appear to be an issue with my app since even the default test.html fails with authentication asp.net iis iis-6 http-status-code-401 share|improve this question asked Dec 13 '13 at 16:10 Kyle 48841430 1 microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/WindowsServer2003/Library/IIS/… perhaps? –Joachim Isaksson Dec 13 '13 at 16:16 Anonymous access was already enabled by default –Kyle Dec 13 '13 at 16:27 add a comment

But when I login(same credentials I used to login into the system). I get the error (see attachment) . I have checked everything 1) application pool user IUser, gave ful access to it.2) Windows acc is enables and anonymous as well3) Gave current user the access right for the wen directory.Strange thing is , I managed to configure the site on preview with same environment. am I missing anything?
