to fix it? I did a Google search but all the issues were 4 years back, every body is talking about gingerbread in those posts, I'm running Android lollipop! youtube share|improve this question edited Apr 17 at 9:59 Izzy♦ 63.1k30158450 asked Apr 17 at 9:15 brainst 12 Not using that – but when reading "network error" and "401" in one line, it lets me think of the HTTP response code (which means "authorization required"). Have you tried logging-out/logging-in from the YT app? It's just a wild guess, as a "wrong password" should result in a 403 (not 401). –Izzy♦ Apr 17 at 10:01 just logout from YouTube ,it will fix the problem. –user177190 Jul 18 at 20:28 add a comment| 3 Answers 3 active oldest votes up vote 0 down vote If you're internet is otherwise working fine, it looks like it could be an issue with the YouTube App itself. Try clearing cache and data for the YouTube App. This will effectively reset the app back to default settings and you will have to log back in. Go to Settings -> Application Manager -> YouTube -> Storage -> Clear Data and Clear Cache. Hope that helps! share|improve this answer answered Jul 14 at 11:53 altobobcat 63 add a comment| up vote 0 do

I fixed the problem by going onto YouTube on my computer, signing in with my google account details and setting up a http://androidforums.com/threads/youtube-network-problem-401.231850/ user name for myself. I hadn't done this before, lol! Don't know if that helps at all; I have an Xperia Arc on Gingerbread with the latest update of YouTube, and a relatively new google account (I recently got married and changed my name). This is great. My wife has the same exact phone and is on my plan and side by side she tried doing the exact same thing that I'm doing but when she hits UPLOAD to start uploading her vid to YT an error message poops up that says: There was a problem with the network (401) Nothing is different about the two phones and the way we are trying to do this. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. My wife did not have her YT account linked up with Google. I linked them up and the error went away and we were able to upload videos straight from the phone. Works great now. #2 jcl6543, Oct 21, 2011 (You must log in or sign up to post here.) Show Ignored Content Your user name or email address: Do you already have an account? No, create an account now.
