Error 404 Com.ibm.ws.webcontainer.servlet
RTC; WAS; context root; Error 404; No target; servlet; uri; jazz; admin Technote (troubleshooting) Problem(Abstract) This technote explains how to resolve an Error "404 No target servlet configured for uri:/jazz/admin", that can occur when using IBM Rational Team Concert. Symptom The following error is returned from Internet browser when accessing the Jazz Admin page after installing Jazz Team Server to IBM WebSphere Application server: Error 404:com.ibm.ws.webcontainer.servlet.exception.NoTargetForURIException: No target servlet configured for uri:/jazz/admin Cause There could be many different reasons causing this error. In this particular scenario, when installing jazz_war to the WebSphere Application server, the context root was set to upper case /JAZZ instead of lower case /jazz. Since WebSphere Application server by default is case sensitive, it can not find the jazz resources. Resolving the problem Update the context root for Jazz following the steps below from the WebSphere Application server admin console: Under Application, Enterprise Application, click on jazz_war Under Web Module Properties, open Context Root for Web Modules Update the ContextRoot property accordingly, click OK to save the change Click save directly to the master configuration Launch the jazz/admin page again. It should be found this time. Leverage the Jazz Community Jazz and Rational Team Concert have an active community that can provide you with additional resources. Browse and contribute to the User forums, contribute to the Team Blog and review the Team wiki. Refer to technote 1319600 for details and links. Double-click on web.xml to open up the Web Application Deployment Description Editor. Select the "Open WebSphere Extensions Descriptor" link. Select the "Enable File Serving" checkbox and save your changes. This adds the following line to ibm-web-ext.xml:

You get the following error Error 404: com.ibm.ws.webcontainer.servlet.exception.NoTargetForURIException: No target servlet configured for uri: /ibm/console 1 Error 404: com.ibm.ws.webcontainer.servlet.exception.NoTargetForURIException: No target error 404 com.ibm.ws.webcontainer.servlet servlet configured for uri: /ibm/console The most common reason, is that the console will want to redirect to the secure HTTP/s port and that port is not open on the firewall for example Let's say you have the following portsFile : appserver_ports.props 1 appserver_ports.props and you have created a WAS profile using the following command: /opt/IBM/WebSphere/AppServer/bin/manageprofiles.sh -create -profileName DV_AppServer01Prof -profilePath /opt/IBM/WebSphere/AppServer/profiles/DV_AppServer01Prof -templatePath /opt/IBM/WebSphere/AppServer/profileTemplates/default -cellName DV_AppServer01 -hostName localhostcell01 -nodeName DV_AppServer01 -portsFile /var/apps/scripts/was8manage/appserver_ports.props -isDefault 1 /opt/IBM/WebSphere/AppServer/bin/manageprofiles.sh -create -profileName DV_AppServer01Prof -profilePath /opt/IBM/WebSphere/AppServer/profiles/DV_AppServer01Prof -templatePath /opt/IBM/WebSphere/AppServer/profileTemplates/default -cellName DV_AppServer01 -hostName localhostcell01 -nodeName DV_AppServer01 -portsFile /var/apps/scripts/was8manage/appserver_ports.props -isDefault We need to look at the portsFile #This file is hand crafted, though numbers are in sequence, it was not generated using -startPort #This example is for a standalone application server WC_defaulthost=10020 WC_adminhost=10021 WC_defaulthost_secure=10022 WC_adminhost_secure=10023 BOOTSTRAP_ADDRE
