In the code 404, the first digit indicates a http status 404 how to fix it client error, such as a mistyped Uniform Resource Locator (URL). The following two digits indicate the specific error encountered. HTTP's use of three-digit codes is similar to the use of such codes in earlier protocols such as FTP and NNTP. At the HTTP level, a 404 response code is followed by a human-readable "reason phrase". The HTTP specification suggests the phrase "Not Found"[1] and many web servers by default issue an HTML page that includes both the 404 code and the "Not Found" phrase. A 404 error is often returned when pages have been moved or deleted. In the first case, it is better to employ URL mapping or URL redirection by returning a 301 Moved Permanently response, which can be configured in most server configuration files, or through URL rewriting; in the second case, a 410 Gone should be returned. Because these two options require special server configuration, most websites do not make use of them. 404 errors should not be confused with DNS errors, which appear when the given URL refers to a server name that does not exist. A 404 error indicates that the server itself was found, but that the server was not able to retrieve the requested page. I resend all the data from client to server without touching it, but for some URLs (for example this) server returns the 404 error if I am connecting through my proxy. The requested URL uses Varnish caching, so it might be the root of problem. I cannot reconfigure it - it http://stackoverflow.com/questions/31097474/getting-404-error-if-requesting-a-page-through-proxy-but-200-if-connecting-dire is not my. If I request that URL directly with browser, the server returns 200 and the image is shown correctly. I am stuck because I even do not know what to read and how to compose a search request. Thanks a lot. http proxy http-status-code-404 varnish share|improve this question edited Jun 28 '15 at 13:40 asked Jun 28 '15 at 8:12 TheWizard 165 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 1 down vote Fix the Host: header of the re-issued request. The request going out from the proxy either has no Host header or it is broken (or only X-Host exists). Also take note that the proxy application will execute its own DNS lookup and that might yield a different IP address than your local computer (where you issued the original request). Where as JTS login page loads properly. Note: proxy error 404 When performed the same activity on a single server it worked. Now in this case we have to perform the respective deployment from each application server. Any suggestions would be of great help 5 answers Most liked answers ↑|Newest answers|Oldest answers 1 link Donald Nong (10.0k●2●9) | answered Nov 19 '15, 2:28 a.m. There are quite many manual steps involved when you migrate the configuration from Tomcat to WAS. If something goes wrong in the process, the application may end up not running at all, which will result in an HTTP 404 error when being accessed. If you don't know where to check, I suggest you open a ticket with Support. Comments anoop mc commented Nov 19 '15, 2:42 a.m. Don - You are correct. We have started this activity based on the testing performed against a CLM single server test deployment. Whereas the current deployment is distributed and we have already opened a new PMR with IBM Support. 0 link Chao Wang (215●4) | answered Nov 18 '15, 11:24 a.m. Hi, Is the URL that is used to access each of the application still the same as before? Also just to confirm when you had the tomcat, was that a distributed environment as well? Or did you only change to distributed after you switched to WAS?
