March 21, 2011, 1:04 PM Cause: This is usually caused by SQL Server not being
Vpn Error 5 Windows 8
installed correctly or is not running. Resolution: This is usually
Error 5 No Hostname Exists For This Connection Entry Windows 10
caused by SQL Server not being installed correctly or is not running. Note: for instructions relating to error 5 access is denied Windows 7, please seeTurning SQL Service on for Windows 7knowledge base article. Note: for instructions relating to Windows 10, please seeTurning SQL Service on for Windows 10knowledge http://www.tek-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=1668450 base article. To determine if SQL Server is running, 1. Go to the Start/All Programs/Microsoft SQL Server 2005/Configuration Tools/SQL Server Configuration Manager. 2. InSQL Server Configuration Manager, expandServices, and then clickSQL Server (PTPROFESSIONAL41). 3. Select "SQL Server (PTPROFESSIONAL41)" in the right window pane. 4. In the results pane, right-click (PTPROFESSIONAL41), and then clickStart. http://support.thepapertiger.com/entries/498661-Error-5-Failed-to-connect-to-server A red box on the icon next to SQL Server (PTPROFESSIONAL41)and on the toolbar indicates that SQL Server Agent stopped successfully. 5. Click OK. If you cannot find the entry in the start menu, it means that SQL Server is not installed. If it is running and it still won't connectemail this to our technical support. If it is not installed, have the user uninstall The Paper Tiger and try to reinstall. They will probably get some time of error in the SQL Server installation phase. If so, pass the incident to our technical support with the appropriate error message. If it is a Network version, and the client is installed on the same computer as SQL Server, follow the same procedure as above. If the client is on a separate computer, it is probably being blocked by a Firewall on the server. Follow the instructions in the Installation Documentation to configure the Firewall. The backup will start and several files will be encoded and even a few may be transferred then everything stops. I have version 1.16.4.0. I'm worried because I still 106 Gb to back up on an "initial backup" on this computer and I'm afraid that I will lose my files that were previously backed up on the computer this one replaces. Also - where do I enter a help ticket with the new portal? I haven't found it yet. Solved! Go to Solution. Reply Topic Options Subscribe to RSS Feed
