A Dlna Protocol Error 501 Has Occurred Plex
I had high hopes for this software when I found out about it. The server is exactly what I was dlna protocol error 2104 ps3 looking for! Unfortunately, I'm running the client from a PS3 and of course I get the 501 error when trying to use the video portion. Music works OK. My frustration is that there ps3mediaserver is already a thread about this issue, but the problem never seems to be addressed, at least what I've been able to find. I've already tried deleting the bundle directories and the same error appears. Any help or new advice about getting this error resolved would be greatly appreciated. BTW, I'm at the latest version available. Thanks in advance. 0 «12» Go Comments Trudge Gone off to greener pastures.... HI, If you do a google search for DLNA 501 PS3 you'll see that error 501 seems to be Sony's "catch all" error for DLNA so its not caused by 1 thing, but any number of things that Sony are yet to define specific error codes for. This is also why is keeps coming up and never appears to be fixed, as there is no 1 fix for it and what does fix it for som

As it stands I get an Media Server Error: DLNA Protocol Error 501 has occurred on the PS3 and it tells me that access to the media server has not been allowed when I try to access the MSS.When I try to connect to the MCE2005 PC I get told the system name has not dlna protocol error been registered.I do have my MSS Guest user account disabled if that makes any difference on the WHS side of things?Talking of Guest account - what else may be affected by this account being disabled? Thanks & regards,-=Glyn=- Top Attention Guest: Remove this ad by Registering with the MediaSmartServer.net Forums. There is no network user on a PS3 (sony user name is for completely different purposes). Also on your server go to Settings -> Media Sharing and make sure that's enabled for all 3 media types. _________________ Click on Thank Post if I've been helpful! Comment Filed Under: Gaming Tagged: ps3 A friend of mine purchased a PlayStation 3 and connected it to his wireless Linksys router. Whenever he downloaded updates to games, it would start the download then freeze at about 32 percent. At other times it would throw an error saying DNLA Protocol Error 2101. We could access the PlayStation Store without a problem though. After connecting the PS3 directly to the cable modem, the PS3 worked fine. So we then knew the problem had to be with the Linksys router configuration. After checking out the router settings, we figured out that UPnP was enabled. The UPnP feature is supposed to automatically grant permission to devices to access needed network resources. It doesn't always play well with certain devices though. So we disabled UPnP with these steps: Login to the Linksys router's admin panel. You can usually get there by opening a web browser and going to "http://192.168.1.1" (usually this is the IP address used, but it may be different depending on your configuration) in a web browser. Go to "Connectivity" in the left pane. Click the "Administration" tab. Uncheck "UPnP" to disable it. Select "OK", and you're done. If you have a router from a different brand, check the user guide for information on how to disable this feature.
