Re: Error Messages #777 and #678 VZAccess Manager on HP Mini KinquanaH_VZW Jun 20, 2011 1:18 PM (in response to Skydiver1951) We truly apologize for the internet connections you are experiencing. Below I have provided instructions to correct the error codes that are displaying when attempting to connect to Vzw Access Manager with your HP Mini.1)Ensure the wireless device is disconnected from the computer.2) From the Windows desktop, navigate: Start > (Settings) > Control Panel > (Programs and Features) Uninstall a Program . In Windows XP navigate: Start > (Settings) > Control Panel > Add / Remove Programs. 3)Select VZAccess Manager then click (Change / Remove) Uninstall / Change.4)Ensure Automatic is selected then click Next.5)Click Finish.6)Repeat step 3 to uninstall the device drivers. Device drivers may vary depending upon the device installed, (e.g. SAMSUNG Mobile USB DRIVER, Mobile Broadband Generic Drivers, Pantech PC USB Modem Software, etc.). 7) Restart the computer.8)Reinstall VZAccess Manager via the app

This only happens when my modem is in EVDO-Only mode, and not when I set it to Automatic.Needless to say, whether I set it to automatic or not, and when I do finally get connected, though it says I have a Rev-A signal, my speeds error 678 windows are horrible, 100 to 130 kilobits per second. Anyone have any ideas? I'm running the above mentioned modem on XP SP3, and I usually run just through a dial up connection, not through VZW manager.I updated VZW manager, by the way, but the update had no effect on the problem, good or bad.Thanks.~Ann · actions · 2010-Aug-6 4:59 pm · davidhoffmanPremium Memberjoin:2009-11-19Warner Robins, GAkudos:3 davidhoffman Premium Member 2010-Aug-6 5:35 pm Sorry to tell you, but this happened all day yesterday to me using a USB760. It is exactly what it says, a running out of time situation. The Internet is a very crowded place these days. The cellular based connections to and from it are even more so. Please be patient until LTE is in its fully deployed state at 0001 hours on 01 January 2014. · actions · 2010-Aug-6 5:35 pm · tate8867join:2009-09-10Elkview, WV tate8867 Member 2010-Aug-6 5:50 pm I don't think it is just an overcrowding issue. It is also strange that it only happens in EVD

This drives the CPU to 100% and keeps it there. This slows the computer down considerably. Once I close the manager my System Idle jumps to 75% to 80%. I found that it is impossible to use the Manager and otherwise use the computer for anything else. I have created a dial up access, previously described in this forum, which does not use up the the CPU. Anybody know why VZAccess Manager is so hungry for CPU cycles? I've got an Sierra Wireless MC5725 embedded into a Panasonic Toughbook, and with VZAccess it works fine. I uninstalled VZAccess and configured a dialup connection using XXXXXXXXXX@vzw3g.com as the username and vzw as the password. Dial up is set to #777, but every single time it dials, it returns an Error 678 within two or so seconds. I REALLY want to be able to run the connection without VZAccess!! Thanks! Far from calling you a liar, I suggest the conflict you are experiencing lies in something else on your computer than just vzaccess manager. For what its worth, I run XP pro, an e5200 processor, and two gigs of ram. I might think a very very slow computer might cause your problem, but it sounds more like some do for ever loops due to some other software on your computer that conflicts with vzaccess manager. If you have some window based OS, you might try accessing your error logs in the control panel.
