I work at a help desk and I have been seeing more and more of these lately and I can get some fixed and others nothing seems to work. I just wanted to see if anyone else has found a fix. I have searched google and read lots but nothing seems real concrete. thanks meb Reply With Quote 08-10-03,11:22 PM #2 SinsFeelNatural View Profile View Forum Posts Member Join Date Jan 2003 Location Phx. AZ - USA I just did some research on that error code and it seems to be affecting alot of DSL users. It seems to come from ISP's PPPoE (Point to Point Protocol over Ethernet) software ridden with old code overwriting XP's PPPoE & of course the OS is not liking this I would guess the best way to fix this would be to unistall the ISP's softare and reinstall XP PPoE and setup the customer manually. that is done by creating a new network connection - connect to the internet - setup my connection manually - Connect using a broadband connection that requires a username and password...... Your ISP may refer to this tyoe if connection as PPoE. Last edited by SinsFeelNatural; 08-10-03 at 11:30 PM.
