Guest Hi again, I mentioned a problem with a Comcast modem where we get teh 721 error when trying to connect via VPN. It has been noted on several posts error 721 vpn windows xp that forwarding GRE port 47 fixes this issue, however, on a Comcast OEM linksys vpn error 721 modem (SMC SMC8013WG-CCR), there is no GRE forwarding available. I tried to forward both TCP and UDP for port 47, but error 721 vpn verifying username and password that does not fix the error. The only way I can get it to work is stting up the modem with a DMZ port connecting right to the server--which I don't want to do! vpn comcast router What this tells me, though, is that there must be a solution, since I can connect to the VPN when it's in this DMZ mode. Does anybody have any other suggestions on what settings to look for in the SMC8013WG-CCR? Thanks for everyones input! I tried her login from my house yesterday and https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/196823-vpn-error-721-only-on-1-laptop it connected fine. I have Windows 7. She is at home with Windows XP. We both get https://sit.teamdynamix.com/TDClient/KB/ArticleDet?ID=387 our service from Comcast. I currently have another XP user in another city connected to the VPN, so I know it works.
