I'm not sure if this is an old issue, but I couldn't find it in any thread. Here I go: I downloaded SQL Server 2005 Enterprise Edition from the MSDN site; but when I run the https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/aviraj/2012/08/04/windows-8-enable-net-framework-3-5-includes-net-2-0-and-3-0-i-e-netfx3-feature-in-online-offline-mode/ installation wizard I get this error: Errors occurred during the installation Error 87 installing .NET Framework 2.0 The parameter is incorrect And then I have to cancel the installation. This machine meets the hardware requirements, and it already has the .NET framework 2.0 installed. Humm, what else? It's a Windows 2003 Server SP1 machine...let me https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/sqlserver/en-US/437b8f11-118b-4532-be9f-9cd15f57561a/error-87-while-installing-sql-server-2005?forum=sqlsetupandupgrade know if you need more information. I've been trying to figure out a solution, but I finally gave up I'm trying to install Team Foundation Server, but first I have to install IIS 6.0 (done), SQL Server 2005, Share Point Services....and I'm afraid that the TFS Installation Wizard will ask me to dance 'Macarena' or something like that ¬¬ Ejem, sorry for the whining. Well, does anyone out there know what can I do in order to successfully install SQL Server 2005? Any help will be appreciated Thanks in advance! However, only 4.5 is available for immediate use after error 87 a clean install. The versions 2.0 and 3.5 of the framework are not installed by default. If you open the Add/Remove Windows Features dialog you’ll see the “Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0)” listed, but disabled. To install DotNet 2.0 or 3.5 on Windows 10, Go to Control Panel –> Programs –> Get Programs Click error 87 installing Turn Windows features on or off Check .NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0) Click OK. This Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5 feature contains both the 2.0 and 3.5 versions of the Framework, so you won’t install standalone 2.0 Framework. Actually for .NET 3.5, you don’t need to manual install it. When user runs an app that requires .NET 3.5 runtime, Windows 10 will prompt automatically Turn Windows features on or off dialog walk thru user enable .NET 3.5. Note that install through Windows Auto Update does not work if you don’t have an Internet connection or you will be receiving 0x800F081F or 0x800F0906 error, this usually happens on virtual machines.
