I cannot start the event viewer as the event log service wont start. It is now happening on all our 2008 servers including one of our DC's. I am left with no option but to rebuild the servers??? NTFS or ReFSpartition to a FAT32 partition. The error is because the maximum size of a file that can be stored on FAT32 is 4GB. This is a restriction of the file system and not SyncBack. The only http://support.2brightsparks.com/knowledgebase/articles/213468-cannot-copy-file-87-the-parameter-is-incorrect solution is to backup to a file system that can stores files of that size, http://www.cybertechhelp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=55485 e.g. NTFS or ReFS.This error-87 can also occur when copying files to a SharePoint server and the file is of a restricted type. For example, a SharePoint server may be configured not to allow .PST files to be copied to it.If neither of these apply, it is likely caused by hardware errors and/or disk/file errors (corrupt data). Checking if you can copy the error 87 same data via Windows (drag & drop, etc), or changing devices (testing with different external USB drives, flash drives, etcetera) can help narrow down the problem. Unfortunately, it is a Windows error (error #87, as shown), and it is annoyingly 'unspecific'. Rightclick on Task Scheduler and choose Properties. Click on the General Tab. What do you see under "Start Parameters"? The start parameters are blank. (The non editable path to executable is: C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe -k netsvcs) Thanks thewiz View Public Profile Find all posts by thewiz #4 October 26th, 2004, 07:40 PM AnnMarie CTH Subscriber Join Date: Oct 2001 O/S: Windows Vista 32-bit Location: New Zealand Posts: 59,811 Still in Properties, check the Log On Tab. Make sure that the local system account is selected, and that the "allow service to interact with desktop" check box has a check mark. This service depends on the Remote Procedure Call service running. Make sure that the startup for this service is set to Automatic.
