I simultaneously migrated them from Office 98 to Office 2004. Most documents open fine. But he has a few that will start to open and then, at http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/msoffice_excel-mso_mac/error-accessing-the-system-registry-when-opening/df955d1a-5407-4619-8863-464549653105 a given point, they will render the error dialog: "Error accessing the system registry". Now, this is a "limited" user in OS X, but I have granted them privileges to everything in the Office suite (except MSN Messenger). And I have given all users Read & Write privileges to the Office 2004 folder and all the subfolders. If I http://www.realgeek.com/forums/error-accessing-the-system-registry-362795.html open this same file on the same machine while logged in as the Administrator, the file opens fine. It is only when logging in under a "limited" user account. I've tried looking at Console logs but can't find anything relevant. I search Microsoft support for some reference to this error message. That yielded nothing. I have deduced that the spreadsheet in question does contain some VisualBasic macros. But, again, I have granted the user privileges to everything in the Office 2004 folder. Is VBS hiding somewhere else in the OS? Or does this error message mean something to someone who can explain it to me?
