2002 Dodge Caravan P1684 Code
had a question about Error Code P1684 on my 2001 Dodge Caravan SE 3.3 L. The code is that the battery has been disconnected within the last 50 starts (which it had not). But chrysler error code p1684 I DID disoconnect the negative post and the light went out until today...now its back on. Of course the battery HAS been disconnected ....but I have never had this issue in the opast. Could it mean anything important>?>????Many thanksLansdowne Top Top jeff compton Posts: 7602 Joined: Tue Jan 10, 2006 2:09 pm Location: Kingston Ontario Canada Contact: Contact jeff compton Yahoo Messenger Re: Error code P1684 Quote Postby jeff p1684 dodge neon compton » Sat Oct 03, 2009 11:55 pm I myself have never seen that code turn the light on in a dodge. How are you accessing this code and why did you initially check for dtcs? It's a common code in the system when somebody has disconnectted the battery or had the battery go dead but it's not really a code to base a diagnosis on unless you're chasing an intemittent no start etc Top dodger Posts: 6 Joined: Mon Sep 14, 2009 12:21 pm Re: Error code P1684 Quote Postby dodger » Sun Oct 04, 2009 5:17 am Good morning.. I got the error code by doing the "key dance" in the ignition...it came up P1684,,,which translates to battery being disconnected within the last 50 ignition starts. That was NOT the case three weeks ago but, of course it is snow, since I disconnected the Negative post and reconnected it then...which caused the light to shut off. Naturally I am wondering why it would have come onin the first place....... P1684 & check engine light issue Discussion in 'Technical Support & Help' started by dno36, Feb 9, 2015. dno36 Member Likes: 0 Greetings all, One of our vans is an '03 https://www.allpar.com/forums/threads/p1684-check-engine-light-issue.159430/ T&C base 3.3L flex fuel. Currently at 136K mi. From time to time I have used E85 fuel in our 3.3's when it is much less cost than regular fuel. Last Friday was one of those days. About 1/2 way into the day my check engine light came on. Nothing seemed to change at all with the driveability, even after doing numerous stops over a 150 mile total day. No issues at all..... However, the next morning, it was difficult to start, popping and not starting numerous times before it finally just ran normally ( all of my 3.3's always started perfectly)....It ran fine all day without issue. I checked the code and it was P1684.....battery disconnection, me.... never...so I started reading here and read there and over there too. Power loss to one of the "CM's" OR something major?? Again the next morning, difficult to start, driving normally. Today, after a difficult start, it continued to 'miss' about a block down the road, then finally smoothed out and ran normally. A progression to a worse issue, so now I worry..... 1. Could this be related to the E85 fuel?? 2. Where would 'you' start to look with given symptoms? Hi...I am new to the PT forum..I am in UK and have bought my first Cruiser. It's a 2002 Street error code Cruiser-58k miles in great condition. I have one big problem though! The car is in "limp mode". I have followed the instructions of "Sticky" who's a long standing member of this forum. The error code is showing as P1684 which relates to "Driver 5 Line 4". Basically,I need to know what this means, and how to remedy the problem. I have no idea how to re-set the Modules error code p1684 or any other OBD11? CAN ANYBODY HELP???? P1684 simply means the battery was disconnected within the last 50 key starts. That said--the ML is set by the transmission being in the limp in mode. What has been going on with the tranny? Have tried to "Master Clear" all codes and conditions. I mean have you disconnected the battery for a period of say 30 seconds and then reconnected it. This will clear informational codes such as your 1684 and may return for vehilce to normal opeartion--if you can get to an autostore and have them read all the codes and get back to us.
